Driftwood Surfer beach hostel El Paredon Guatemala

Not recommended if you want any sleep before 3am. Too much loud music, skanky and weak bar.

Honestly the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. My boyfriend and I booked 16 person mixed dorm, but got placed in 22 person dorm, with beds far away from each other. Place was extremely dirty, bathroom covered in dirt/mud. For many hours there was no power, no aircon and no water. But very loud music until 3.30 am! We booked 2 nights, but after one night we had enough and checked out. I will not recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Got refunded for one night, which was nic...

What a great location right beside the ocean and walking distance from so many great places. Sadly our experience wasn’t quite as imagined or lived up to the description of the hostel. Our room had lots of bugs, the power went out very frequently and water was shut off for a long period of time unable to shower or wash our hands. The restaurant is over priced and was out of key ingredients for popular drinks on an early Friday evening. As well, no turtles sadly.

Super hostel, localisation parfaite, bar et piscine hyper agréables, climatisation dans la chambre. Et restaurant de l'hostel aussi très bon. Seul point à noter: il y a beaucoup de soirées, que ce soit dans l'hostel ou dans les deux hostels voisins. J'ai tout de même très bien dormi.

Super good hostel just thought it was a bit overpriced for what it’s worth. People say it’s super party hostel but it’s not rly. In the day it’s good music, chill vibes, but at night it’s pretty quiet. The volunteers where awful, they kept to themselves the whole time and didn’t make an effort with anyone or the family who have the hostel. One night when power went off. The shower flooded when the water came back on and get lots of people’s stuff wet. Just double check the shower...

This hostel is an interesting one. If you are happy going to bed past midnight, you will not have a single problem here, you will have a great time in fact being next to the beach and at a social place. However, if you want to go to bed earlier it will be near impossible as the hostel has fiestas v often and the music is very very loud until 12-1 am. Then the party goes to a different hostel. Breakfast not included. Met a few people who booked an 8 man room and got the 24 room.

AC was broken for a whole night, I tried to find the security guard but he wasn't there.

La seul point négatif est qu’on a loué un chambre il aurait manqué une table pour mettre nos bagages pour pas qu’on laisse nos choses par terre. Une petite lumière de coin de lit et un balaie pour nettoyer notre chambre à par de ça Cetais parfait

Soooo loud…until 3AM. Hard to meet people in the hostel but great location helped.

This hostel is a nice choice for relaxing beach time and socialization. The volunteer and local staff were all kind and helpful. The restaurant upstairs is fairly good too. The bathrooms in the rooms weren’t kept super tidy, but there are beautiful outdoors showers. Security was lacking, no locks on the rooms or to the hostel itself. There’s also no overnight staff. Overall enjoyed my stay though!

De locatie was super, ook het water in de kamer was fijn. Verder was de kamer zeer slecht, het rook muffig/oud en naar schimmel en was vies. Bij aankomst was het beddengoed niet verschoond, zwarte haren met viezigheid in bed. Na het vragen kregen we wel nieuw beddengoed maar dit koste enige moeite. De ochtend na de feestjes waren de badkamers (douche en toiletten) zeer vies met sigaretten en vies toiletpapier.

Ambience lost. Facilities run down. One bathroom for twenty two bunks, though two thirty meters away outside.

Nice common area. Dorms were very dirty and not often cleaned. Surf lessons are 200Q not 165 for one hour. Surf lesson itself was not very good and entirely in spanish. Would have been helpful if i was informed of this in advance. Asked the receptionist about social activties on that week in that hostel and she told me to go to a different hostel. Extremely loud music from next door club untill 3am most nights. Can get much nicer hostels for this price

WLAN funktioniert nicht und der Zustand der Toiletten ist nicht gut.

Such a chill place to stay right on the beach with volleyball every day and super easy to meet people 😇 Great pool and common areas too. Can be loud at night from noise next door but the hostel shuts down at 10 so it’s not too bad.

Driftwood has the best location right on the beach. Staff is super friendly. Surf board rentals, bar, restaurant, parties. What more can u ask for! Wish I could have stayed longer

This place is amazing. The staff is what truly made Driftwood great. They become family and you meet tons of people here. Great pool. Volleyball everyday at 4:30pm, they have activities during the week. Music bingo karaoke was fun!! All I can say is, if you come to El Paredon, I highly recommend Driftwood!

10/10. Amazing location, good food/drinks, good pool. Air con is amazing and a lifesaver in the heat. The best part is the staff/volunteers - met countless friends here and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely great experience. Some of the friendliest staff I’ve ever met at any hostel/hotel. Volleyball was amazing, swimming pool was fun, beach is a 20 second walk away. Met countless friends here. 10/10, would recommend!!!
