Hostal Gosen

VERY strange experience. When I arrived to try to check in, the owner said it was “under construction” & moved me to a different hostel nearby that his family also owns? Gave me no warning or info until I showed up. It was very confusing & unexpected. The hostel he moved me to was nice (Terito) & a cute elderly couple ran the place. Was very much like a hotel (not a bad thing) but definitely not social, I barely saw a soul. Breakfast was nice. Good location. Clean room.

A nice hostel in a great location. The staff were friendly. The blue lights in the room and the bathroom were a bit off putting. The shower was cold and didn’t have great water pressure, making it difficult to wash the sand off from the beach. The security was good and we had no issues. But you do have to leave your key at the hostel reception when you go out, and there are times when the keys are accessible and no one is sitting at reception to check who is taking those keys.

Very nice place to stay for the money. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Great location. Short walk to the ocean.

Great breakfast, great people, very accommodating to my needs. When I went the electricity wasn't working in the private room but they changed me to another room which worked perfectly. So I'm sure that they have fixed by now. Wifi is fast and hot water worked all the time

Good stay! Location was good, close to the main pier. Staff was a bit hard to get hold of but very kind. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Common places were amazing! Rooms very clean/ AC was so good.

Bel hostel avec une belle terrasse en avant et au 3e étage. Personnel aidant pour la planification d'excursion. Propreté des chambre vraiment à revoir puisque plusieurs cafards trouvés en chambre et salle de bain peu équipé.

Good location 5-10min walk to the main street with restaurants etc. AC great. No atmosphere even though they have a great outdoor space out front. would stay again!

Hostal Gosen was a great stay in our trip to the Galapagos. Breakfast was good, the building and rooms were exceptionally clean, and the host was always available and gave excellent recommendations. It’s 4-5 min walk into town and 10-15 to nearby beaches. The A/C was wonderful, and beds comfortable! The patio is super cute and colourful as well.

Cool place, tours available if you want and the owner explained all the good snorkeling spots and beaches when we arrived. The whole island feels secure, this place is no exception. Location is close to the main strip, you just have to take a shortcut through the ditch the opposite direction of the road. Nothing to complain about here.

I really enjoyed my stay in that hostel. The view in front of the rooms in the top floor is amazing and I loved to have a beer there and enjoyed my evening. You can grab take away food and have your dinner there. The owner was very nice and friendly. He brought me to the ferry in the morning and helped me with tips on the island. The only thing I missed was a little bit of kitchen stuff to cook my own meal. I definitely recommend this place. Breakfast was nice too. ;)

WARNING: 6:30am wake up calls. While the hosts were kind, the staff carry out loud conversations up and down the hallway, seemingly slamming plates and laundry baskets in AM. The cook plays music very loudly, and because the doors to the private rooms are simply thin sliding doors there is zero audible privacy. The locks are no better than a small notebook lock and host asks you to leave your key hanging at front desk. They can enter whenever. Definitely not worth the price, look elsewhere.

Aufenthalt war gut, schöne Unterkunft und alles sauber! Allerdings eher ein Hotel als ein Hostel, Frühstück inkludiert und keine Möglichkeit, die Küche zu benutzen. Schnorchelmasken können für 3$ am Tag gemietet werden

Overall a good place to stay, breakfast was included and it was worth it. The courtyard out front is a great place to relax with hammocks and comfy chairs. My only complaint is there was no hot water in my room, I don’t know if that’s consistent everywhere else. Location was great, and you could walk everywhere!
