Lhoyjean Garden Hostel

This place is absolutely amazing! Lhoy and Jean that are running the hostel are the lovelyest people and will help you out with everything. They make wonderful breakfast and dinner for anyone who’s keen to join and they will make sure you get to whatever place you want to go and any activities you want to do. This place feels like family, I love it and couldn’t recommend it more!

I had an amazing stay with Lhoy and Jean. They are amazing hosts, very kind, and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. I highly recommend staying here, and would definitely pick this hostel over any other one in the area.

Had the most lovely time at LhoyJeans. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. Daily breakfast and dinner cooked by Jean was INCREDIBLE. I dont ride a motorbike but Lhoy offers trips and outings on this Tuktuk so it was easy to still see lots of the sights and get around. A very peaceful hostel in the middle of nature, and some lovely other travellers you can connect with over the group dinners.

It’s a really good hostel. The environment was amazing and the owners are super nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend doing the hike with Lhoy, he will take you to the best spot for chocolate hill to see the sunset.

I had the most wonderful stay here. Lhoy and Jean were the kindest, most hospitable people. Such a perfect escape from busy life and so serene. I told Lhoy I loved coconut water and he climbed his tree to cut one open for me. Jean made the best food. I wish I could have stayed longer. Such a beautiful couple and stay.

Definitely loved staying with Lhoy and Jean. They take care of you and make you breakfast and diner if you want to. It‘s so nice to socialize with other travelers during the meals. You can rent a scooter to get around but besides that, it’s hard to get there and it‘s definitely in a less touristy area if you’re looking for that! Defo recommend this hostel for everyone who goes to Bohol island!

Its a simple place.. Lloy is the best host.. they do have scooters for rent which is great.. Grab will not take you from the port to there so you will need to hire transportation or rent a scooter from near the port. The dorm is very open air.. which I enjoyed.. simple.. Lloys cooking is amazing for dinner.. if you are looking for a place near chocolate hills, about 5 or 10 minutes ride. you are also close to some waterfalls.i spent 2 nights.

Mir hat mein Aufenthalt hier sehr gefallen. Die Unterkunft wurde mehrmals täglich geputzt, das Essen war sehr lecker und die Angestellten sehr freundlich. Hier gibt es eine richtige Küche, wo man auch selber kochen kann. Außerdem kann man hier Roller leihen.

The best hostel I have stayed in the Philippines! Was supposed to only stay for one night but a typhoon had other plans and I didn’t mind extending to 4 nights! So cozy, truly felt like a home with good homemade meals! Lhoy and Jean do truly care about you. Will definitely come back!

We loved it here! The hosts were so sweet to us. Serving us delicious food, lunch for only 20 pesos and breakfast for 30 pesos each. They also arrange different tours where the hostel owner personally will drive u in his tuktuk and take u places less touristy!

Our best hostel in the Philippines. We spent one night there to visit the center of the island. The atmosphere was great, and lhoy and jean were really nice. The food in the evening is excellent and very affordable. We took the opportunity to take a cooking class with Jean. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it.

Lhoy and Jean were such incredible and welcoming hosts who went above and beyond for us, a home away from home. The dinner was one of the best meals I’ve had in the Philippines. They have suggestions for your itinerary and bikes to rent, so you don’t need to plan too much beforehand. Lhoy even took me to the doctor and waited until I was done to bring me back, which was such a relief after being unwell. I could not fault this hostel, thank you both so much - I’ll never forget this stay ...

I really loved staying here. The Accomodation is basic but you pay for what you get. I ate breakfast and lunch which was cooked by the hosts each day and both were really good - I am veggie and there was always multiple options. Scooter rental is available at the property which you need to do if you want to explore the surrounding areas

This place was the highlight of our trip! It was super clean and the owners Lhoy and Jean were so kind and welcoming. Lhoy showed us the best spots around Batuan and recommended great food stops and fresh local produce. Jean made the most delicious breakfasts, and we paid for the group dinners every night— which are a lovely way to bring everyone together! As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the variety of veggie dishes she made. Id also recommend Jean’s cooking class! Loved it so much!!!

I had a wonderful stay at the hostel! Lhoy and Jean are incredibly welcoming, friendly and hearty. Jean cooks the best dinner and breakfast in the Philippines. They want you to have a great time. The place is clean and offers everything. You can reach the chocolate in 10 minutes and the waterfalls in 30 to 50 min. I will definitely come again!

Don't hesitate, the place is really nice!

Wij hadden dit hostel geboekt omdat het wat goedkoper was, dus hadden we weinig verwachtingen. Maar de eigenaren zijn zo ontzettend gastvrij, het eten is echt super lekker en je kreeg het gevoel van ‘thuis’ op deze plek. Ik zou hier zeker vaker terug komen en raad het aan iedereen aan! Het ligt ook op een goede locatie voor activiteiten die vanuit het hostel kan regelen en de bedden waren comfortabel!

Had such a great stay at Lhoyjean! Property is perfect for having a relaxing stay or to use as a base to explore central Bohol. Lhoy and Jean are great hosts and I’d recommend to future travellers.
