I really like this place! I've had bad experiences with other versions of the hostel-in-hotel model before but the evo hotel/granary building has an atmosphere that feels more like a hostel already so it's a great fit. Lots of nice common spaces and stuff going on, friendly staff, plus great little stations in each bunk with outlets, shelves, and reading lights. The only thing I wasn't stoked about was the bed frames- they're very loud and squeaky/creaky.
Excellent modern hostel with good amenities and location. Would absolutely stay here again.
Great atmosphere and overall vibe, my only complaint is the lack of kitchen or fridge. Even a small fridge in the room or near the vending machines would be extremely helpful.
This was an awesome place and I highly recommend staying here! Rooms were spacious and clean and the shared facilities were really nice
Truly unique setup. Incredible space connected to an ecosystem tailored for active individuals. The hostel/hotel is connected to a massive bouldering gym which also has yoga and a weight room (guest pass included with stay). There is also a re-used gear shop, a large outdoor store with a ski shop (for tuning/waxing), an indoor skate park, coffee shop, bar and lounge. Finally, a nice sauna after a ski day was the icing on the cake. Looking forward to coming back.
everything was fine, the staff is very friendly and professional. but there is a climbing dust particulalrly in commmon areas, they clean it, but dies not really help.
I will be a guest anytime at your Salt Lake City - UT Hostel! Amazing Business Idea ! I will be willing to bring this great business venture to the Amazon Rainforest -Brazil. I just don't give 10 ,because the Bouldering Sound System is a little bit louder and this affects the guests. But, Tara is Amazing and after my request, she took action and satisfy my 😴. The Hostel is Honesty and take care ,when I forgot my bag in the locker ! I really very appreciate the care! Location i...
This place was great! It is a little away from downtown so you do need to take Ubers a bit. I didn’t feel comfortable walking some of the streets alone at night. But there is so much to do at the hotel it makes up for the location. Bouldering classes, yoga classes, work out classes, and the use of all the gyms was included. So much fun to take the bouldering class! The beds are really really squeaky. I noticed when someone was in the top bunk it didn’t squeak. Maybe weigh it down.
This is a really cool spot! Highly recommend and I hope to come back again!
Really a cool building and place to be. Clean. Safe. Comfortable. Beds are squeaky and music from the bouldering gym played until pretty late at night.
Absolutely loved it here, definitely coming back!!
Great facilities and chill spaces
The attached facilities to this hostel make it super worth it! In fact you spend very little time in the hostel itself due to the things on offer elsewhere in the building. Good social vibe too! If ever I’m back in Salt Lake City, this place will be a firm favourite.
Cool place to do activities But horrible sleep every night! Bedrooms have windows connected to indoor rock climbing that is open 24/7 with music and loud voices! Squeaky beds that make a to. Of noise!!! No refrigerators. Basically this is a public recreation space that has a few beds leased out to the hostel. I was exhausted each and every day not being able to sleep
The property was very clean but the beds in the rooms were very close together which was a little weird. The beds were very squeaky. No laundry, no kitchen, no lobby meetups (like they said). It was a very unfriendly environment. If you’re into indoor rock climbing and skating, then it’s probably worth it to stay there. I did like the fact that there were locker rooms in addition to the dorm bathrooms. Close to the airport too which is a plus.
Love the concept of a hostel tucked into a regular hotel. You get somewhat of an elevated hostel experience without paying the extra $$$. But you do give up the hostel culture and atmosphere, which I do like. Also, not sure that there was anywhere to store or cook food. I'd use them again, for a bed and clean shower (you get to use the fitness center locker room), but not for a longer stay where I'm looking to meet people and cook my own meals. Staff was great. Friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed my stay here and staff is amazing and friendly; great amenities too. However, the area is at the edge of town and there is a bunch of construction, empty lots, and a rough vibe overall, so I didn't necessarily feel safe walking alone in the area--always had to have someone with me. Walking to downtown, you will come across a very rough crowd by a nearby park, which I felt extremely unsafe walking by even in broad daylight, so as a solo female traveler, do keep this in mind.
super clean and nice
Great hostel!! Loved getting to use the locker rooms & free day passes to the rock climbing gym. These are great perks to have during your stay. Everything was very clean and well organized, the only negative was the location. Not the nicest area around but would definitely stay here again!
it was a bit annoying you couldn't cook there. the samml cafe was okay
