Santa Maria is a dreamy get away! It was the perfect mix of relaxing, and exploring in nature for me. Not to mention the food cooked on site means there’s a family feel to evening meals. Raj is so helpful, meeting your needs at any moment, and arranging canoe trips / kayaking. The location isn’t too near the main island but you can rent a bike, and also swim in front of the hostel so it’s worth it! I have had the best time, thank you Santa Mariaaaaaa

We had a wonderful stay at Santa Maria. So peaceful, so beautiful, laying in the hammocks with the cool breeze off the lake. The host was amazing as well. Helpful in every regard, funny, thoughtful, he made us feel like friends or family, right from the start. If he were working for me, I would give him a raise!!! So kind. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would return again if ever we visit Munroe Island in the future.

Spent two nights here at the end of a hectic few days around Kerala. It was a slice of paradise. We got a private room. The room was very clean. Rajat was the most helpful kind and social hostel manager anyone could ask for. We were invited to a family dinner on arrival, which was DELICIOUS! A “sticky” hostel is what I’d call it, in a good way, you’ll get stuck there and will not want to leave. Grá mór! Toffee From Ireland

It is located away from an accessible road. the unmetalled tiny road that connects the hostel to the main road is under a railway bridge and it gets flooded easily. The caretaker had to lift my bag on his head and carry it to the aim road as no tuk-tuk could drive on that road and reach the hostel. There are literally no facilities. Food is sourced from elsewhere and sometimes the caterers refuse. You have to travel at least 1.5 km to a local restaurant. the owner should shut the place down.

One of the best hostel in south India. Amazing staff, nice meetings and beautiful sunsets on Monroe Island. The perfect spot for chill.

The hostel is in the most amazing location, a great manager and attracts a really nice crowd of people!

Stunning location, on the lake. Also very near the railway so if you book a private room, bring earplugs!

Beautiful place to stay by the backwaters. The host Apu is a legend, he’ll help you out with anything. You’ll meet lovely people here. Deffo worth renting scooters to get around the island (600 rupees a day)
