ligging is mooi. Personeel is niet hartelijk. Wist niet hoe lang de winkels open waren. Zelf gaat ze nooit naar de winkel. Kamers boven een kroeg. Kroeg is overigens wel gezellig. Eten is ook erg lekker. In de hostel geen plek om zelf iets te koken of te maken.

L'ostello è carino ed è al centro della città, quindi la posizione è ottimale. Alla base c'è un bel pub con varie birre e panini in cui si può piacevolmente passare il tempo. Purtroppo la presenza del Pub fa sì che tutti i rumori del pub si risentano allo stesso modo nelle camere fino a mezzanotte (orario di chiusura del pub) e anche dopo dato che molte persone si trattengono all'esterno anche dopo l'orario di chiusura. La struttura non è dotata di cucina.

There was no kitchen and to get to the showers you had to walk past the main dining room with all the customers. Also, the staff wasn’t really paying much attention to the hostel’s residents at the time of the check in (as I was told from other guests), mainly because they weee focused on the restaurant.

This hostel has all the potential to be a 10, but had poor communication. Staff gave no direction on amenities and facilities on property (all of which are great) and you had to just find them yourself.

Stayed here for a night while driving through Iceland. Great location and great service, problem is that it’s not really a hostel, it’s just a bed. There’s no kitchen, or even a common area for people to relax, just a restaurant, which can be loud. They don’t even have hot water or anything to heat up noodles or something along those lines. Didn’t use the bathroom or shower while I was there. The bedding was also subpar, really small bedsheets, and the pillow was basically a piece of p...

No kitchen at all and not even a common place to hang besides the bar which is pretty loud, not the hostel atmosphere I was looking for

The hostel is in an excellent position, right in the centre of the town. It’s one the the main bars, frequented both by locals and tourists and full of people every night. The rooms are nice and clean, so the bathrooms and the showers. The only flaws are the lack of a real kitchen, the “kitchen” area is very limited and poorly equipped, and the washing machine, which we found expensive. However we recommend this place and if we come again to Akureyri, we would definitely stay at Backpacker...

Fine place to stay if you just need a bed for the night. Good hot showers. Sauna was out of order - it is unclear if this is a long term situation. A lot of effort is being put into the bar downstairs, but this is at the expense of common spaces and kitchen facilities, which are extremely limited.

Es war viel zu laut. Die Musik aus der Bar schallt bis nach 23 Uhr laut ins Zimmer. Danach bleibt es im und vor dem Hostel laut. An Schlafen war lange nicht zu denken.

There was no kitchen ! And that was a big problem for me being a veg and having one kid who is gluten free . I booked all the places in Iceland with that definite criteria and there was no kitchen here inspite of the description mentioning a kitchen .

Nice and cozy bar with nice staff. However, no kitchen, even though it says so on their website and in the website. For compensation we were offered a discount on the bar’s dinner menu. Loud music until after 23:00 and dirty duvets and pillows when taking off the sheets for check-out. Nice place for a beer but no hostel vibes, very basic and noisy room and lack of cleanliness.

WARNING: no kitchen. They’ve ripped it out and replaced it with nothing, but all advertising (including IN the the rooms) say self catering/kitchen is available. Instead, they expect you to pay full price for the restaurant & breakfast. Iceland is a very expensive place and people staying in a hostel cannot generally afford to eat out for every meal. Feels like the new owners just wanted to buy the restaurant and the hostel is a burden. No laundry, when again, advertising says otherwise. This...

Cute hostel in the center of the cute town of Akureyri. Amazing staff, friendly and accommodating. Great variety of beers too! Recommending if you're in Akureyri

Location is awesome, can’t be beat. There’s not really a common area except for the bar/cafe downstairs, but I did get a free beer from reception! Probably don’t plan to do laundry here, it’s quite expensive and outside behind the building.

Cold& no blankets…

Excellent hostel - just a heads up - they add 1,500 ISK extra if you need a duvet if you don't have your own sleeping bag. Other than that, great hostel, excellent location, great vibe, easy to meet people as a solo traveler, and they even give you a nice welcome drink! Staff are really nice too. So are the facilities.

Ein sehr angenehmes Hostel, genügend Platz in den Dorms um das Gepäck zu verstauen, ein Tisch zum Arbeiten, Bettwäsche und eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre um eine Nacht in der Nähe des Airports zu verbringen. Der Mitarbeiter an der Reception sehr zuvorkommend, hat alle Anliegen ( mit einem freundlichen Lächeln)erfüllen können. Dusche/Wc alles bestens und ebenso das Frühstück und der 24Std Tee/Kaffee. Zu empfehlen!

Great hostel, lovely atmosphere in bar / cafe with a good selection of food & drinks. Rooms and showers were comfortable and clean. Very good location, would definitely stay again.
