It was clean and the location was quite central. However, there is no atmosphere at all, I think also due to the fact there is no place (like a hangout spot) in the hostel to meet other travelers. I also didn’t feel really welcome from the reception staff. I stayed for 1 night and the morning I left, there was no water or electricity. You can stay here if you need to, but I think there are better options for the same price
I chose this accommodation for its low price, but I cannot recommend it. The listed rates are in non-Ghanaian currencies, and their exchange rate is 15–20% higher than expected. A 50 cedi deposit is also required. The bed was clean and towels were provided, but the air conditioning is too weak for the room size, and the Wi-Fi barely works. The toilet is dirty, and since it isn’t separated from the rooms, hygiene is an issue. Additionally, marijuana smoke from the balcony entered the rooms.
The location is great, it's on a side street just off of the buzzing Oxford Street. However, the staff are less than enthusiastic, and the toilets in the girl's dorm don't flush, so if you get a bad stomach you'll have to run to a nearby business to use the toilet.
The staff was helpful, the location was fine.
Super great and helpful with planning trip to slave dungeons
a shared hostel located near Osu. very tight toiletes. After my reservation and partly prepayment they didn’t want to make an document for visa application for me. They said i need to stay 5 (five) nights in their hostel to give me confirmation for visa. if you need hotel documents for visa aplication go to Hostel SOMEWHERE NICE. They give invitation letters without any problem within 24 hours and without prepayment requested.
Overall, considering this was my first hostel experience I enjoyed my stay. The staff were very polite and well mannered. Things I think could have been improved was the regularity of cleaning? The boys room (which I and my colleagues stayed in temporarily) had a very dirty floor so I would bring slippers/flipflops to walk around in. The blankets provided were very narrow and barely cover you so I would recommend bringing your own blanket if you like being cozy at night.
Good location, clean, nice staff, good quality price. Nik is very helpful and nice. Would recommend it for a short stay in Accra.
This hostel was fantastic! Very centrally located and super cute. They got drink they got food it’s perfect. Make sure you book in advance they like it when you give them a heads up. I will 100% be going back to African vibrations for my next stay.
Overall nice hostel. Located in an area that can feel a little rough in the beginning, but after a while you'll love the authenticity. Simple rooms, with a small balcony and restaurant with decent food. No curtains, but my room of 10 beds only had me and another person so it was fine. Need to bring your own lock for the lockers in the room. Twi Language cafe arranged every friday, it was lovely even for people with no knowledge from before. Good athmosphere!
If you're looking for a restful stay, this hostel is for you. The amenities are great. Hot showers, clean rooms, great air conditioning and lots of spaces with mirrors to do hair/makeup. Also every bed has their own light plus outlet. The area in Osu is really central especially if you want to be close to nightlife. It's relatively new so it has less reviews and can be on the quiet side but that might be a plus for you. Highly recommend.
