Nora's Homestay and Rainforest

We had a great stay! The rooms are basic but for what you pay it is great value. The highlight for us was the kindness of the owners. We stayed up singing karaoke and drinking some beers with them and they were the best. We also did our orangutan tour with them and it was a very good day. Would highly recommend.

Familie ist super gastfreundlich und Hilfsbereit. Wunderschöne Lage am Rand von Bukitlawang. Man ist zu Fuß innerhalb von ein paar Minuten im Regenwald, und kann dort Affen beobachten oder im Fluss baden. Das Hostel hat direkt am Fluss Sitzmöglichkeiten, Hängematten und Liegestühle. Das Essen ist günstig und super lecker. In der Früh wird man von den Affen geweckt, die über das Grundstück toben. Anders als auf Bali sind diese Affen aber nicht aggressiv oder stehlen. :)

This was an amazing stay, close to the river and the centre of Bukit Lawang. Just a bit loud in the morning, because of the scooters passing by on the small road.

One of my favorite places I have stayed. Owners were so so kind and lots of fun. We stayed up singing karaoke and having a few beers with them and had the best time! Very helpful with booking things. We did a day orangutan trek with Eddie which was such a cool experience. A must do when in Bukit Lawang. All the locals in the whole village were so kind. Cool shops and art all throughout. The bungalow room was so cool. Comfy bed with bug nets. Highly recommend staying here. I plan on coming back!

Ich hatte einen sehr guten Aufenthalt bei Noras Homestay! Alle hier sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Schon vor meinem Aufenthalt habe ich mit der Besitzerin per WhatsApp geschrieben und sie hat mir auch ein Taxi von medan hierher organisiert. Ich habe auch die 3 tägige Jungle Tour hier gebucht und es war fantastisch. Das Essen ist einheimisch und sehr lecker. Auch meine Wäsche wurde innerhalb weniger Stunden nach dem Jungle gewaschen. Ich kann jedem einen Aufenthalt hier nur empfehlen,

Highly recommend staying here, all the staff is so warm and happy and welcoming, feels like a home. Had an awesome experience with the overnight jungle trek and even got invited to a friend of Nella’s wedding:)

Si vous souhaitez choisir un autre guide que le mari de Nora, ne venez pas. Elle fera tout pour que votre séjour soit désagréable. Sinon, en générale, les chambres ne sont pas propres (crottes et pipis de souris sous les lits), et dans ma chambre qui etait au dessus de la cuisine, j'ai eu des rats la nuit. L'établissement est en bord de route, impossible de dormir la nuit avec le bruit des motos.

Lovely room, stayed here after doing the jungle trek. Staff were lovely and helpful and the food was good too. Bed was big and comfy.

Very good homestay in Bukit Lawang, they also organize the jungle trekking which was amazing. We did a 3-day trekking which we would highly recommend! Hosts of the homestay were very hospitable and cook great meals. They took care of the trekking and transport and were always there for a nice chat! Had lots of fun and didn’t have to worry about everything since it was all well arranged. Another good point is that both accomodation and trekking were locally, support the locals! Best experience!

Ik heb hier een erg fijne tijd gehad. Ik heb een tour door het dorp gedaan waarbij ik zelf Tempeh kon maken en kon zien hoe er tofu en bruine suiker gemaakt werd en we bezochten de traditionele markt. Ik vond dit een bijzondere ervaring en het was heel gezellig met mijn guide, Samuel. Ook heb ik een jungle trekking gedaan met Ahmed, dit was ook onwijs leuk en gezellig en ik heb 5 Orang-oetangs gezien en alle soorten kleine apen. In het weekend was het wel erg luidruchtig, vooral op zaterdagnacht

The reception was very unfriendly, the prepaid reservation fee wasn’t calculated in the final price, the wifi wasn’t strong enough to reach the room and the water from the shower had a bad smell. During night several times the light in my room was switched on (I had a single room) as it was somehow connected to the hallway.

Wonderful place, lovely family, right on the river. Just magical!! They helped arrange my jungle trek, overall amazing.

Beautiful location, staff were so friendly, exceptionally clean, good cheap food. can't recommend enough
