Diyawara Home Stay

We had a really nice stay at Diyawara Homestay. Herath and his family immediately made us feel at home, we arrived very late at night but Herath picked us up from the station and welcomed us. The breakfast and dinner that they can arrange for you is incredibly tasty and I would highly recommend eating at least 1 dinner at their place. Herath is also a travel planner so he can help you with anything that you need in the whole of Sri Lanka. We really felt like this was great value for money!

We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad. Gastheer was erg aardig en dacht goed mee over activiteiten en vervoer. Wil je halen en brengen naar het centrum. Alles is schoon en je kunt eten bij het hostel. Erg lekker.

Nice, clean room and bathroom. Hot water and AC. Family was welcoming and helpful. Did the safari through the owner. Just be wary of hidden costs. Nothing offered is free (breakfast, dinner, tea, water, bikes etc.) We didn’t know this as we weren’t told beforehand so had a surprising final bill. Other than this, our stay was really lovely!

We had the best stay here! We were welcomed like family members. We could Book a Safari and very cheap bike tour with him and the food was amazing!!!! We would come again anytime thank you for everything 🫂☀️🤗

Ik heb er twee nachten geslapen als alleenreizende in een privé-kamer. Het was echt waar voor mijn geld. De eigenaar heet Herat en spreekt Engels. Hij is vaak op pad als gids voor toeristen, maar hij is telefonisch wel bereikbaar (What'sapp). Zijn vrouw en dochter spreken nauwelijks Engels. Ze verhuren ook fietsen en de bezienswaardigheden zijn makkelijk vanaf hun hostal te bereiken. De accomodatie ligt 4 km van het centrum, daardoor heb je een tuktuk of fiets nodig om uit eten te gaan.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt! Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend Er und seine gesamte Familie haben sich sehr um under Wohl gekümmert! Es liegt ihnen am Herzen, dass ihre Gäste einen schönen Aufenthalt haben. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen und bedanken uns nocheinmal von Herzen!

Ons verblijf hier was erg prettig. De kamer had alles wat je nodig had. We hebben hier heerlijk geslapen. Vanuit hier hebben we de Wilpattu tour gedaan. De host heeft ons hier goed bij geholpen. Hij is erg behulpzaam en denkt goed mee. We hebben dit verblijf als erg prettig ervaren en raden het iedereen aan.

Super lief gezin dat alles voor je wil regelen en je overal mee helpt. Helaas reisde ik alleen en waren er geen andere reizigers in het verblijf, maar de familie liet me even onderdeel van hun familie voelen. Ze zijn super lief en niks is teveel en je betaalt heel weinig voor alles wat ze doen dus het is echt top, maar als je andere reizigers wil ontmoeten of even de stad in wil kunnen lopen dan is dit niet de plek. Ik had niet goed naar de locatie gekeken en baalde daar achteraf wel van.

Had a lovely stay. On our first night, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner and could even join the cooking process the following night. Great hospitality and very knowledgeable host!

Bisschen abgelegen, aber dafür nah an den Tempeln und Ruinen. Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber mit minimalistischer aber ausreichender Ausstattung.

Leuke homestay dichtbij wilpattu national park! De eigenaar Wasantha kan goed engels en helpt je overal bij (Safari inplannen, ontbijt, avondeten). Daarnaast wil hij je ook graag helpen bij het plannen van de rest van je reis door Sri Lanka. De kamer is basic maar heeft alles wat je nodig hebt AC en Badkamer ensuite. Zeker boeken als je een kijkje wil nemen bij een super aardig Sri Lankaans gezin thuis.

Lovely stay, amazing facilities and price. Helpful family who helped me organise a cycle tour of the ancient city. It was private and a reasonable price.

Considering the location, it was a decent stay. It’s a homestay so don’t expect any hostel’s vibes, rather a family welcoming you to their place. Rooms are basic but rather comfortable. The owner will WhatsApp you from the moment you book until after you leave to make sure you are fine and look after you during your stay. They offer any kind of packages, including tuk tuk and private car transfers

Herath en zijn familie zijn erg gastvrij. We voelden ons direct welkom. Herath reageert snel en geeft tips over wat er te doen is en alternatieve reisroutes zodat je meer van het land kan zien. Ook organiseerde Herath de safaritour naar Wilpattu National Park, wat vlekkeloos verliep. De kamer zelf is prima. Basisvoorzieningen zijn aanwezig. Veel muggen maar er is een muggennet. Iets gehorig.

I really enjoyed my stay at Heraths Home. His Family is amazing and more than welcoming. They make very Tasty breakfast and help you with Everything. I will come back ♥️
