MONTANA Hotel & Hostel Karon Phuket

Beware! I was asked to lend money to the woman who runs the place with her husband. I lent it to her as she was in need but on the day I was due to checkout, she didn’t give me the full amount back (including the 500 baht deposit for the keys). My friend was luckily in town for a few days after me so was able to get the money back with difficulty but this was unacceptable. Place is otherwise OK. Cleanish with good location. No atmosphere what. So. Ever. Avoid if solo.

The property is in a fantastic location- close to shops, food and the beach. The staff were absolutely wonderful and we loved the fact there were tea/coffee/noodle making facilities!! My favourite part of my stay was sitting in the sun with a hot coffee in the morning. Only thing that was slightly annoying was how squeaky the bed was but it can’t be helped!

Would never go there again. Although check in was supposed to be at 2pm. We got a mattress on the floor. So no real bed. After asking for a bed, the lady didn’t know which beds were free. I got assigned a bed in which I found a guy lying in after I came back from dinner. Not really clean place either. I finally got a bed with bedsheets after midnight. Would not recommend going there!

Das ist das schlimmste Hostel in dem ich je war. Mein “Bett” sollte nur eine Matratze auf dem Boden sein. Nachdem ich mich beschwert habe war zufällig noch ein Bett frei. Die beiden haben keinen Überblick über ihre Betten und mein Bett war erst 1 Uhr nachts “fertig”, ohne Bettbezug. Zimmer kann man nicht abschließen, die Türen sind einfach offen und Schließfächer gibt es auch nicht. Es gibt in dem Hostel nur 2 Toiletten und 2 duschen. Und die sind jeweils in einem Raum und unfassb...

Lovely spot! And even lovelier host. And such comfy bed! Would come again
