I stayed in the private room with a double bed. I was happy with what I got. It felt private and was nice and quiet. Bed was comfy and staff were friendly. If you’re looking to meet people this probably isn’t the place, but if you’re looking for somewhere to relax and unwind I would recommend this place. The only negative is the shower dosen’t go hot and the water pressure is very low
Perfect place to stay in SJDS! The staff is great and super helpful. They rent motorcycles to guests, will help line up shuttles to beaches, and are knowledgeable about the area. Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Nice big kitchen with filtered water. 24/7 desk. Perfect if you skate or surf, they will tell you where to go! Couldn’t recommend more!
It's got everything you need. It's quiet and safe. It feels more like a hotel. There's less socializing and no comfortable space to chill out.
We had a room for two with a bunk bed. It had no a/c and the fan stopped moving so I had the cold air in my face all the time. It was way too hot and the mattress was really hard. The bathroom was quite low standard as well. Too bad actually because once you enter the hostel it actually makes a good impression. The kitchen was positive, it was well equipped and clean.
Very cramped room, the fan didn’t reach the top bunk and there was no AC. Shower was abit dirty too and barely worked . But super cheap if sharing
Nice little budget hostal. At the time we went it was rainy season so barely anyone was there. The kitchen is fantastic and it’s great that they offer filtered water. The rooms can get VERY hot, especially if you are upstairs. If we stayed again we would have opted for the room with AC. The showers only have cold water and the bathroom was a little dirty. As the hostel was empty we didn’t have an issue with noise. Overall pretty good stay.
I spent 5 nights at Hostal Namborus. The staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful with whatever I needed and answering any questions I had. It was nice to stay somewhere owned and operated by locals and experience true Nicaraguan hospitality. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC was quiet and worked well. It's a couple minutes walk to the party zone so it was a nice balance of being right in the heart of town without being too noisy.
Very noisy
More like a guest house than a hostel and we didn’t have a particularly great stay. There’s no actual window panes in the rooms so you can hear all the noise from the street and the guys in reception were playing music from their phones really loud before 7am. Bathrooms are also a bit dingy
Lovely place, very fair price for private rooms, no food menu but that's to be expected, I would recommend Namborus to anyone looking to surf for a few days or even to try Sunday Funday.
Great hostel in perfect location, staff were very helpful with directions and printing documents for us. Clean rooms and good wifi - would stay again !
A lovely quiet hostel if you need a bit of that in your life. Kitchen was well equipped, room was nice and clean, staff were friendly. Not much of a social vibe but you'll get a decent kip at least.
My stay was excellent and would highly recommend Hostal Nomborus. Marvin who runs the hostel was very helpful by providing me with suggestions and kindly answered all of my questions. Marvin also helped connect me with the right people for activities which there are plenty of in SJDS. Good locations and clean rooms were also a plus!
the pros: great location! quiet like we prefer. friendly staff! felt safe. the cons: our ensuite bathroom needed a lot of work (sink didnt work without being turned off and on at the wall with each use, water leaked from something in the bathroom); room had no chairs or table, beds and small lockers so it made being in the private room to chill not possible.
If you’re looking for a clean quiet private room then this place is perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole place seems new. There is no social vibe here though so you would struggle to meet people. No communal areas and it seems that the staffs family and friends use the place as a place to hang out Also my friend got locked out of the hostel at 3am when it says there’s no curfew on the house rules so they need to clarify that
I like the hostel very much and nice rooms and not even 200m to the beach
