2/3 bathrooms unusable due to being disgusting. Last bathroom’s toilet lid is barely attached to the toilet and smells like something is genuinely dying in the trash can. I imagine it is bio-waste but I doubt it is changed more than once every two weeks. Bedrooms have literally 0 room to move around in. No reason 6 beds should “fit” in that size of a bedroom.

Basic hostel that does the job for a night or two in Cardiff. Very noisy during the night due to the D&B bar downstairs but if you're a heavy sleeper it's not too much bother. The staff were really helpful and lovely

This is not worth the money. My stay was ok but it was not comfortable. 1. I got there a bit earlier than check in and Matt from reception happened to be walking out of the bar. Lucky he did because I wouldn't have had somewhere to store my luggage because they don't have a manned reception desk. Matt checked me in early so shout out to him! 2. Download your room key to digital wallet because the wifi and data connection is bad. 3. Can't lock lockers... 4. The shower is on a very short timer...

The place is centrally located but no staff on site. Toilets clogged and the showers leaking and you have to push for the water to come out so continuously water never comes out unless you are pushing the button but you can’t lather at the same time. No stove or oven. The no fridge or utensils. The fridge is actually a small display case for the entire hostel. But the place is close to the bus and train station as well as the heart of the city center. Worth half of what they charge

should’ve read the reviews before staying here. could not sleep due to the bunk rattling from the loud music downstairs, which didn’t stop until 3am. go spend your money someplace else

This hostel is a scam. First of all: It says that breakfast is included, but it’s not. When I told the owner about it, he just smirked and said „I know“. It’s not very clean, because there’s only one cleaning lady who tries to clean as much as possible. Shoutouts to her, she’s a queen! You can’t lock your stuff. Great location, electronic entry took some getting used to, no lockers. Common area was nice personnel where friendly & helpful. Price should be in the 20's, not 30's as it was a very basic/no frills hostel.

The lack of personal is problematic. Even though they provide an number, they don’t answer inmediadbly and there’s that would be fix with an anytime personal (the reception was close 2 days at 9 am, while it supposed to be open). So few bathrooms for so many people and they’re bearly aceptable (about cleaning). There’s no space provided to keep important things.

The digital key was such a pain, especially because the wifi at the hostel often couldn’t load it (which is the bare minimum, imo), and the mobile data connection was unstable. The shower doors were completely transparent, so you got hardly any privacy, and the staff seemed like they hated you. The location is good though!

Not enough storage units in the rooms and you need a very long loop on the padlock to lock them. This hostel is not as advertised. Nowhere to fill up drinking water jug. No tea or coffee. No check-in. Don't need passport. Very difficult to get hold of a member of staff. Toilet paper not topped up. Homeless people try and tailgate in all the time. Drunk people eat takeaway in the porch and leave their litter everywhere. Shower is on a 20 second timer.

Well I have stayed here Yearly for around 5 years except of course under Covid... LOL Alternative Accommodation was much worse lol... Obviously had a bit of an Upgrade lately. ... Um I suppose Yous know the Room 1 Lock violently burst open... So no working lock... No doubt be Repaired. Have to Rate the Cleaner... The Only Staff On Duty... Did a good job Daily. Much preffered the old Breakfast Room Next Door... My cousin referred to Bunkhouse as the Dosshouse... But good for my Budget.

I know the reason they use a digital key is to keep costs down as a business. But i never got an email with a digital key, and when I arrived at night and there was nobody at reception, I went to Sandringham hotel down the street. I couldn't call anybody because i didnt have a local sim. The next day, the owner admitted that it was a mistake on their end because they never got a notification from hostel world, yet he refused to give me a refund. He also seemed too busy to care about customers.

very weird hostel. did not feel very safe, but the female dorm was better than mixed. location is great, on the main street, however it is on top of a club so it’s super loud all night. beds were uncomfy, but overall very clean and spacious

Despite the claimed hours of reception desk staffing, the actuality of it isn’t that. Of course all the phone numbers/other means to get in touch with any staff or management rests locked away inside the building, which is only accessible/within-view after being lucky enough to check-in with a staff member, or waiting some several more hours for a ‘digital key’ to possibly arrive. Given other details as well, would suggest against this place if other options exist at a similar price point.

Simple hostel, great location. Quite dingy and very basic bathroom and shower facilities, does the job when the price is lower.

This was one of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything all the way from checking in to checking out was awful. Unwelcoming check in lady - forgot her name but she had blonde hair. There was no bed designation, just free-for-all which caused problems further down the way, and just no staff presence or care for customers, except for when closing the tiny ass common area every night at 10 which is a bit pointless and annoying. I was nervous at first, having read some bad reviews. However, I had a pleasent experience. I was in an all female dorm, it was kept clean. I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to interact with staff as my digital key worked fine. This hostel is in a great location. I liked how the dorm had its own bathroom with plenty of showers, a fridge, a tea kettle, and a microwave. The only downside is the noise. There is a bustling street right below. But honestly with earplugs and a face mask, I was ok.
