Deka Hotel

Booked this hostel because it said it had 24 hour reception, upon arriving at 1am it was all closed up, no one around (other than groups of young guys who my driver said will rob you). Multiple calls went unanswered. Ended up having to find somewhere else to stay in the middle of the night - so can’t comment on anything within the hostel itself.

There were a lot of cockroaches in the room

Where to start? We have stayed multiple times and each time DEKA had no record of our reservations. The water repeatedly did not work and I had to walk down four floors to ask the staff how long until the water would come back on because they wouldn’t initiate communication. It takes over an hour for the restaurant to bring you plain bread or chips and another hour for them to bring you your change. On a plus the security guards are quite friendly.

We had a great time at deka hotel. The price for the room was very affordable and the the staff was incredibly nice. Whenever we come back to Nairobi, we will stay at this hotel!

unsafe, dirty and lizzards + cockroaches in the room. bad wifi and no hot water

We understand that we didn’t pay much but we wish we would have known more because we would have never stayed. No wifi, water, working lights, and felt unsafe. They told us they didn’t have room for us, even though we reserved weeks prior, and made us wait 3 hrs then gave us dirty rooms. They knocked and then walked into one of our rooms during the night to get full payment immediately. Absolutely awful customer service and not what is advertised.
