Loved loved loved this place! There was a great vibe and something social happening each day. The beach, atm and grocery stores are all within a 1-2mins walk. There is a good AC and the room doors lock with a key which is great. I saw some reviews saying there was a weird chemical smell, but that seems to have been fixed as I did not smell anything while staying here. Absolutely would recommend this place!
everything was perfect! Highly recommend staying here :) lovely atmosphere and nice rooms!
I was satisfied. The hostel is friendly and offers something almost every evening. The location is great, close to the beach, supermarkets, and an ATM. I was less satisfied with the cleanliness. I didn't see anyone cleaning for three days, and the floor in our room was very dirty. The shower was cold, and the showerhead was broken (only a strong, thick stream came out). Towels are free, but you have to leave a deposit beforehand, which you get back when you return them.
I thought this place was great. I am a 55-year-old single female and I felt very safe and comfortable here. I am definitely the oldest person here… hostels tend to attract younger people… and I felt welcome and comfortable. It’s a great way to connect to people from across the world. There’s nothing fancy about this place but my bed was clean and that probably mattered most to me. I would definitely recommend.
There was a strong chemical smell from the bathroom making everyone sick and all they did was spray a whole can of glade and leave the security door open which didn't help. The lockers are tiny so you need a flexible lock. It was the most run down place I stayed in CR
Terrible smell in our room so could barely be in there, bathroom was sandy and super dirty. Was never cleaned during my visit.
Was not a fan. Very dark energy overall, feels like the hostel is part of an abandoned restaurant. Guests were very young 20-22. The dorm had a stench which seemed like was some low quality cleaning product. For the lockers you need a skinny lock a thick one won’t fit and the lockers were small. Very loud in the night time. Also, the door you have to use the key from the inside as well to lock the room which some girls did not seem to know and the room was unlocked almost the whole night.
I’ve stayed here twice and loved it both times! Clean rooms, great vibe, and an awesome bar attached to the hostel. The hiking, beach volleyball, and pasta nights make you feel like part of a big family. Kiban, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and makes the experience even better. If you’re in Samara, this is the place to stay!
I stayed at the hostel for a week and I would book again anytime!! The owner and the volunteers are very nice and they organized many activities during the day and night (kayaking at isla Chora, Hiking, salsa night, pasta night and more)! It is a less than 2 minutes walk from the beach and there are some very cute coffee shops around. There is a club right next to the hostel but if you are a good sleeper, it is not an issue!
The staff were very friendly and good location. Odd smell in our room left from the AC and wasn’t the cleanest place. The bar next door goes till very late and is quite loud.
I loved it here! As a solo-female traveler i felt very safe in this Hostel and Samara. The staff is so nice and helps you with anything. Would definitiy come back! It can be loud tough, but i didnt have a Problem with that.
It is not the hostel which put me off but the unruly guests who did not care about others. Throwing things around, littering everywhere.. messy , noisy ...Just the kind of unhosteley people...I checked out and checked in to another hostel.
Loved staying here! Met the nicest people and the place had such a cool environment. Shout out to all of the volunteers and everyone for being so welcoming.
The best hostel in Costa Rica, the workers were the best. Super welcoming and chill place to hangout. 2 min walk to the beach. Would recommend for anyone to stay.
Amazing place with some amazing people, shout out to Mau, Guillermo, Kiban and all the others :). Great vibes and a lot of fun. I will definitely be coming back
Sadly this was not what i thought it would be like. I‘m sure it‘s a different vibe during high season tho. The owner is nice in generall but wasn‘t there most of the time…the other staff was often sleeping on the couch with the dog or drinking at night. It seemed more like a hangout spot for their friends than a hostel. They also didn‘t clean out the toilet paper bin the whole 4 nights I stayed in the dorm :/ And never cleaned the room.
