Vive Alegria Hostel

We had an amazing time in this hostel 😊 we stayed for three weeks and felt very supported and at home with the staff and the hostel itself. I would 100 percent recommend staying here especially if you are looking for a peaceful stay with welcoming and down to earth people.

Had a great stay at this hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful It has a nice homey feel to it and family run. You are directly across from a Soriana (Large grocery store) making it easy to pick up food and supplies or cheap meals. Great atmosphere with lots of art and plants around, it is a very clean and family run hostel they make you feel safe and are happy to help with anything. Supermarket, cafe, bus stop, and the beach is right across the street, can walk easily downtown in 15 minutes. Would highly recommend!

Ania was a wonderful host. Superb location (to the beach, Versalles, El Centro, auto bus line). Can’t wait to go back!!

Good hostel for the older crowd. Quiet place. Few people. 2 blocks from the beach. Major grocery department store across the street Downside: traffic noise and water pump alarm at night. TV is antenna only, ROKU is not working, hot water is unreliable.

It does the job to stay here for one or two nights. It’s located near a beach, but quite far out of the city. It feels safe and it’s relatively clean. However I did see a dead cockroach, so they may be roaming around. The hostel is frequented by middle aged Mexican men, but their minded their own business. This is a wonderful hostel located in a great location! It is on the main street, close to the ocean. The beach is not far away, about 5-10 minutes on foot. Across the street is the Soriana supermarket, and very close to the entrance is the bus stop. Long balcony along the whole building overlooking the main street. The owners of the hostel are very nice and friendly people. There is video surveillance and lockers for valuables. I had a great vacation in this place! Thank you very much!

Great service and kind people. The place is just like the pictures. You have all what you need for a good rate. Pretty calm and relax. I was so tired and slept so good. Puerto Vallarta downtown is close by a 15min walking

J'ai passé une nuit sur mon voyage et je reviendrai. Tout va bien et très central et proche de l'aéroport !!. Calme et parfait pour se reposer. Les lits spacieux et confortables. Très propre. Una noche en mi camino de viaje y volveré. Todo bien y muy céntrico y cerca del aeropuerto!!. Tranquilo y perfecto para descansar. Las camas amplias y cómodos. Muy limpio.

Le personnel est très chaleureux et accueillant, ce qui a rendu notre arrivée agréable. En revanche, la propreté de l’hostel laissait à désirer. La présence du chien de la propriétaire ne nous a pas dérangés, mais l’odeur de ses déjections sur la terrasse, accentuée par la chaleur, rendait les repas assez désagréables. C’est un point à améliorer pour rendre le séjour plus confortable.

The location is not bad. It’s on the bus stop which takes you to/from the airport and malecón. The hostel was full of construction workers so wasn’t a good place for a solo traveller. The staff were very friendly. However, I booked a private room and upon arrival was informed the doorknob was broken and couldn’t be closed/locked. I wasn’t comfortable with not being able to lock my door and the hostel being full of construction workers instead of travellers, so I left without spending th...

This place had a bunch of (male) construction worker staying in it. This didn’t create a fun environment. It also didn’t feel super secure. Anya, the manager, and her dog, Amorcito, are super sweet.But overall bad vibes and the location doesn’t compensate for it. I ended up eating the cost for the second night and going to stay at another hostel.

Stay here vs Centro! I initially booked Vive Alegria for three days but ended up extending my stay and using this hostel as my home base. It is ideally located within the bus lines. It takes 10 minutes to get to Centro by bus which runs every minute for 10 pesos. PVR is also convenient to get to. (I previously stayed at Centro and it was too loud and congested.) Its a friendly hostel, the staff are helpful, kindand they assist you in any kind of information you wish to know. The trouble is that the hostel is away from the centre or Malecon. Therefore you have to travel by bus if you wish to head to the centre. However there is a beach resot near . Where you can sunbathe and have time to yourlself. Its lovely and surounded by other tourists.

Perfect for me in my 30s. Wifi works. Quieter, smaller hostel. If you like pets, there is an incredibly sweet pitty here. If you keep to yourself, she mostly just makes sure you're not an intruder and then goes about her business to her other humans. Also a sweet Black cat who is fine sleeping or being pet. Not as many 20s folks here. No daily activities, but excellent conversation from hostel owner who speaks great English.

Recomiendo altamente este hostel era la primera vez que me quedaba en uno y fue fantástico, el lugar es súper limpio, el personal son bastante atentos así que los recomiendo totalmente. 🤗 Nos vemos pronto…. 🔜

It was a great stay for the budget conscious. The staff was very friendly and overall was a great experience.

Alegria was an awesome stay, with very cool people, nice/clean facilities, and wonderful hosts. Very fun pets as well. Less than a 10-minute walk from the beach and close to the Centro area for eats/bars/walking around. Would come back! Gracias
