Very nice experience! I only stayed for one night but felt very welcomed by the staff at reception at all times.

A lovely place to stay in Old Hanoi, the receptionist was especially helpful in recommending us places to go!

The worst showering facilities I’ve ever seen at a paid for hostel

We arrived at this hostel at about 1am. Upon arrival, the receptionist was asleep (despite 24hr check in) and it felt very uncomfortable to wake him up. Our room had a window opening out into reception that wouldn’t close, so at 4am we were woken up to people charging down the stairs. Worst of all, our shared ‘bathroom’ was the reception WC with a shower head in the corner, which was so dirty and we had to walk across the reception to get to. Would definitely not recommend staying here.

The bathroom space was very tight for shower and not easy to take a shower and as it was shared the toilet was wet most of the time and not very clean either

Quiet place to stay in convenient location. Staff were pleasant, mattress was thin and hard compared to other hostels we stayed at in Hanoi. Room was clean, note there is no elevator and the stairs are tight if you are tall (I am 6ft and had to watch my head). Fair value for money

Had a room between floors so had to go up and down steps to use the bathroom.

Staff are helpful and good location for being in the old quarter. Reception is clean but room was quite dated and our door had obviously been broken at some point. Booked our travel to SaPa very easily through them which was an average journey but comfortable enough

Overall an ok place to sleep for a night. Staff were very friendly but the room wasn’t the cleanest. There were some ants in the bed and bathroom, dirty towels and mugs and the window didn’t shut (not ideal when it was torrential rain) and it can be quite noisy outside. The lack of lift was also an issue, especially dragging bags to the 4th floor. Air con was good

Good hotel considering the price. The location is perfect, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Our time at Golden Hostel was made very special by our new friend Thuc! Thuc was our go-to during our time in Hanoi. He organised excursions to Ha Long Bay and the unforgettable Ha Giang Loop for us. Everything went smoothly and this was all booked within the reception of the hotel. For every trip we were picked up and dropped us at the hotel doors. Coming from the UK, the only thing to get used to in Vietnam is the shower/bathroom combination. Thanks Thuc!

stayed here night before my ha giang loop in a private twin room with a friend, and they upgraded us for free to a room with 2 doubles. the lady at the desk was lovely and funny. we arrived at night new to Vietnam so it may just be nerves but we felt a little uneasy walking the streets nearby but nothing crazy. I would stay again and recommend

Je recommande fortement ! Une chambre spacieuse et propre, en plein centre du vieux quartier d’Hanoï. Le personnel est adorable et très arrangeant, ils s’assurent que nous n’ayons besoin de rien. Petit plus pour le café/thé et bananes qui sont gratuits et à volonté au niveau de l’accueil. Propose également un taxi à moindre frais pour se rendre à l’aéroport de Noi Bai.

Great hostel. Fantastic value for money. Staff were brilliant. Fantastic location - we loved our balcony overlooking the street. It’s not the poshest but it’s great facilities for the price. Would def recommend.

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer ohne Fenster. Die Atmosphäre wär etwas enttäuschend. Aber bei warmen Temperaturen und um der Lautstärke der Stadt zu entkommen, hat sich das später als Vorteil herausgestellt. Das Personal war freundlich. Die Unterkunft bietet kostenlosen Tee und Kaffee, liegt zentral und erscheint professionell. Das Bad war leider etwas sehr eng und speziell, wie oft in Vietnam. Insgesamt war alles sauber.

Goede locatie, zeer vriendelijke mensen. Wat kleine benauwde kamer met in één hoekje wat schimmel. De dagtours die we via de hostel hadden geboekt waren allemaal goed.
