If this hostel existed in every country, i'd stay there everytime, but at the same time what makes this hostel so special is that its so unique. Not only was the property so safe and well equipped, it was also beautifully decorated and so cosy. Igor was a fantastic host who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. The kitchen is stunning and we enjoyed our evenings cooking. While the hostel is a little out of the way, that only adds to the homely atmosphere. :)

I had a great time at this hostel! It was clean, welcoming and had all the necessary facilities. The wall art is also really beautiful. Igor is an interesting person to talk to, he is an articulate conversationalist, knowledgeable and a good listener. I would highly recommend this hostel for someone who wishes to have a peaceful and relaxed accommodation experience.

Amazing place to stay! Igor is such a welcoming host, and even though the hostel is a bit far from the center (10-15 min tram), the place, cleanliness, and support compensate 100%. I'd definitely recommend it and come back!

Sorry to say, but for me this was the worst place I have ever stayed. It was cold, almost impossible to find. there is no sign on the entrance door ???, I stayed alone in a 3 room dormitory, where the other 2 bed was dirty and not prepared for new guest. And the owner said, Yes I know it is cold, but I can't turn on the heating again. Everything is so old and squeeky doors, floor ... Never again ....

I love this place. It is a gem on its own. The house is situated in a quiet street and I had the best night of sleep in a very long time. The staff is very friendly and very kind and accommodating. The hostel is 15-20 minutes ride on a team from the city center and the public transport is very easy and a nice way to get to know one very beautiful street in Zagreb. I had a wonderful experience with a fellow traveler in our exchange of experiences.

It’s simply a very good hostel. Very nice atmosphere, very chill vibes, host is very nice and helpful.

Loved the owner and the vibe in which the hostel had. Everyone was social, was in a great quiet area but if you are wanting to be in the centre takes a little to get in.

We enjoyed the stay at Mali Mrak a lot :) You feel welcome and included by a warm and comforting atmosphere. Every room is nicely decorated, unique and mystical with the handmadeartistic drawings on the walls ☺️ I could get lost in all the details in the drawings :) Igor is a very open and friendly host that provides you with a lot of tips about discovering the city :)

It’s much more than just a hostel, you get the feeling you’re in a home because of the atmosphere. It’s a truly Balkan kind of hospitality.The guide they send is a real gem, you can tell it’s been created by a local traveler who knows the area well and genuinely wants to share it with those who arrive.To me, it feels like a modern caravanserai for globetrotters.

A staple of Zagreb, staff who genuinely care about what you want to do, personalized recommendations for all sorts of activities. Very clean, lots of cool artwork all around. We love you Igor 🫶

definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed in. nicely set up with a chill social vibe and it's pretty quick to get to the city center with the tram. everything was clean and well organized. igor does a great job at running the place

Ein tolles Hostel, sehr entspannte, freundliche Atmosphäre, individuell und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage ist nicht zentral, aber gut angebunden, und man findet leicht einen (kostenlosen) Parkplatz auf der Straße. Wäre auf jeden Fall meine erste Adresse, wenn ich wieder nach Zagreb komme

Very unique hostel with welcoming staff who is willing to help you get to know some basics about the city, which I found very helpful. I met nice people there from different parts of the world and I was overall very satisfied with my stay. Only thing is maybe the distance from center which can be annoying sometimes, but at least it is peaceful out there and it has its own pleasent vibe. Definitely recommend to try out for yourself.

This is definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. I really liked how social it felt. Beds are comfy + curtains is perfect. Igor! He is an awesome host, he genuinely really cares about everybody who stays at the hostel and always has time to chat, and it’s awesome to see. I remember agreeing with this girl that we’d trust Igor with our lives 😂 He’s a very special man. Es war mein zweites Mail bei Igor in seinem Hostel und ich war Mal wieder total begeistert. Er ist ein toller Host, das Hostel ist gemütlich und die Lage etwas abseits der Stadt ist dafür schön ruhig und gemütlich. Ich würde immer wieder kommen!

Had a wonderful time here! Igor was an amazing host - by far the most involved and enthusiastic hostel host I've met. Upon arrival, he sat me down and showed a genuine interest in getting to know me, and also gave me endless recommendations tailored to my exact interests (hiking, trying local cuisine, socialising). Such a cozy place, and the artwork hung up everywhere gives it such a unique feel. You definitely won't regret booking here!
