When I needed to cancel, I was unsure how to do it through the Hostelworld account, so I contacted the hostel directly. They told me not to worry, but that I would lose the payment for the first night since I cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. I agreed to that. However, I was also charged for the second night, even though your website states that cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance should be refunded
Cool vibes, good people and a great location. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of spaces to hang out and meet fellow travellers. Everything is within walking distance, and the staff make you feel right at home. Would definitely stay here again 👯♀️👯♀️
Thought it was wild that you had to sign out if you wanted to use a pot, pan, large bowl or strainer. One of the staff members was pretty rude in every interaction I had with them. Room and kitchen was clean.
Loved all the vibes in here! The staff is so lovely and the atmosphere feels like home at all times!
The best hostel in my life. I loved the facility, the people, the staff. I felt like at home and all the staff was so helpful they actively care for the people who live there.
Location, people, facilities were all great
The doors are always unlocked, even though there're thieves walking around at night. No cutlery, plates, pots etc - only available at reception for a refund. No lockers.
If you book a room, don’t expect to be able to stay in the same one. I was told I had to move and have 3 different rooms (in a stay of 6 days) which meant packing several times and being without a room during check out and check in on multiple days. When I asked the man at reception about this, he was extremely rude, told me I was being ridiculous and that it was a busy hostel. Signs in the hostel about there being thefts at night. Not social- most people are long stayers
Best backpacker in the whole world. It's all good!!!!!
The location and facilities are good but the dorm room is very old and outdated. The beds are not very comfortable and there was not much space in the rooms for baggage/ no lockers.
I think overall this hostel is really good! The atmosphere was brilliant however I found that certain people staying there were quite lax with security (locking doors) which made me quite uneasy whilst I was sleeping at night. Maybe get a private if you are worried about this.
This hostel is definitely a solid option in Broome if you want to be right by the beach. While there is a bus into town, it doesn’t run very late which can be a bit inconvenient. The facilities are quite basic and the rooms lack lockers for belongings. I was only there for two nights between tours, so I didn’t really chat with any new people, but I got the sense that most people hanging out at the bar already knew each other since they were longtermers, so it’s not the most social.
Great staff+location but no aircon. Was a little disappointed that I had to change rooms when I booked back in December for three nights and on the last night having to change inc taking off sheets and moving to the room next door? There was also nothing communal in the kitchen so if you were only there for a night or two there was no salt/pepper/oil . Also people often had the doors unlocked so when I had locked the door one of the people in my room said they never locked it/took it out
Extremely disappointed with the service. We paid and reserved 2 months in advance for a 4 person shared air conditioned room for 1 night. Our party is 4. Upon arrival they split us into 1x8 person shared male dorm, 1x8 person shared both gender dorm, 2x8 person shared female dorm. They proceeded to tell us that in a hostel you do not choose your rooms... when confronted that they weren't honoring their reservation for the extra that we paid for a 4 person room and air conditioning they offered u
Location is good for getting to Cable beach but tricky getting into town. During low season there is one bus going to town once an hour between 9 am and 6 pm. High season it's twice an hour. Hostel has a nice shady pool area and lots of common areas. Kitchen equipment can be rented from the reception. Lots of long-termers in the hostel and room was a bit messy with stuff scattered around. Probably good for people wanting to work and stay in Broome, but didn't seem that social for others
My initial trip was supposed to be two weeks. I ended up staying for six! I had such an amazing time and firstly want to mention how amazing Holly and Ivan were! They were so helpful and friendly. The hostel itself was very clean and so close to Cable Beach. The only thing for me was the price of water. In such a hot climate seems a bit unfair to sell water for $5 especially as it sells in the shop for 90c. I think a 500% profit seems a lot, especially when water is crucial when it’s so hot.
The place was one of the best hostel I have seen in Australia. They have plenty of info about the are and if you need something posted to you. Also info about transfers to the airport, etc It was clean and has everything you need for a few nights. Very close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia 😍
Super nice staff, friendly crowd, nice showers, kitchen is well equipped, would love to stay again!
Staff and other guests were friendly. Bathrooms and laundry area got pretty dirty everyday (and many of the bathroom stalls ran out of toilet paper by the end of the day). There are no lockers, and everyone leaves the doors unlocked — since there’s no front door, anyone could walk in and s***l stuff. Location is close to beach and is quieter/safer than right in town, but there are few other amenities in walking distance. This is definitely the party hostel — lots of loud music.
Bed was perfect, in my opinion. Close to the beach. Busstop in front of the hostel. Enough parking spots for cars. On peak hours you had to wait sometimes for a shower.
