An ok stay. Being kind .....
Nothing inherently wrong with the hostel, but not one I'd be super excited to stay at. It WAS good value for a private room, but it felt pretty outdated. Staff was fine, and the location is passable. Good for a night or two in Drogheda since there aren't many hostels.
I unfortunately had to leave after two nights and find a better accommodation. Worst hostel I’ve ever been. Only positive point is that it is in a perfect location to get to Bru na Boinne by bus. No locker was provided to keep my luggage safe. The door of our 10 bed dorm was literally just free to enter: no key. I have never been able to get a hot shower. The kitchen area was never very clean or taken care of.
Spoon and the Stars Hostel provides good Drogheda access for Boyne Valley trips, but our private room stay disappointed significantly. We paid €200 for two nights with breakfast included, yet faced maintenance issues and unhelpful staff that hurt the experience.Location StrengthsNear Newgrange tombs, Monasterboice high crosses, Mellifont Abbey, and Battle of the Boyne sites. Train station next door for 45-minute Dublin trips, buses outside, pubs walkable.Room DrawbacksBathroom layout splits ac...
Хороший хостель
Kinda can't wait to stay here again. Stayed in the en suite private room and was completely delighted by the property, location, ambiance, facilities, staff, and cleanliness. It's obvious that the owners take extreme pride in their property and truly care about their guests. I was recommended to visit Newgrange, which I'm so glad I did. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable. Spoon on!
Loved staying here. Helpful staff and great to have tea available and breakfast. Thank you.
Ideal location, great staff, and nice breakfast! Loved my visit!
Great place. I would stay again. Be sure to bring earplugs because road noise is very loud. Also, there’s a nice back patio but there was always someone smoking on it.
The toilets and showers were immaculately clean, breakfast was great, loved the decor - very sweet vibe. Would come again.
Not only friendly, more family feeling.
The hostel is located within a few minutes walk from the centre of Drogheda and the railway station Staff were very friendly and helpful, the bunk rooms were clean and the continental type breakfast was v good, tea/coffee etc is available at any time
Staff were great. Good variety at reakfast. Ambiance is eclectic and inviting. Cleanliness was good. (Not the fault of property or staff that by overnight the men staying there will have peed on the floors of both toilet stalls. Pee-ew!) We stayed toasty warm in our room and [comfy] bed on a chilly damp night. Bathroom cold. Place is on a busy street not quick or easy to traverse. Parking is in car park across that street. Yet the downtown and shops are accessible on foot once you’re out there...
Lovely place, and convenient. I think the price point for the double room was a little on the high side, but I would stay here again.
Good location, clean and good vibes but not really bike friendly
Une super auberge à l'ambiance familiale ! Je recommande.
Had an amazing stay here! Some of the guests caused issues but the staff handled them all very well. A very pleasant stay!
very nice and central to everything
very good and homely
- 7 minutes of slow walking to the central bus station. Bus stop to Dublin even closer. - clean toiles/showers/rooms/common places. - basic/adequate breakfast without amount restrictions (I hope :) ). - clean rooms/beds/bedding materials. - safe place, quiet, kind and helpful employees. - price good for the Irish standards. - I would gladly stay to the same hostel if the opportunity takes me back to Drogheda.
