The good: staff are very sweet, and you are close to the beach. The bad: The “kitchen” is just a hot plate and a combined fridge/freezer, many bugs/bad smell. No common areas. Bathroom door does NOT lock!! And only cold showers. Beds are uncomfortable, and unfortunately due to the location I was woken up multiple times a night to blaring music or people yelling outside. Would advise to spend the extra $10-15 and get a hotel/airbnb!
Best location in the middle of Cabarete, nice people and clean
Worst hostel I’ve ever been Almost 20$ per nights, beds are not done, they basically drop the linens on the bed for you to make it. No towels included The kitchen is basically a joke, they could do an open kitchen close to the sink but instead it’s just a one heater thing on a table. To wash dishes go simply go by the end of the street. A kind of freezer for fridge where there is basically no space for food. Rooms are okay; no hot water tho but very cold, seemed to be cooled down
The best place to stay in Cabarete! Wing Camp felt like a dream. Nataliya, the host, is super friendly and helpful. The location is unbeatable—right on the beach and in the center of town. Start your day with a sunrise run and enjoy fresh coconuts nearby. Surrounded by great restaurants, it also has a simple kitchen for cooking. A stunning surf spot is just a 10-minute bus ride or a scenic walk along the beach. Perfect for an unforgettable stay!
This was the worst hostel that I’ve ever stayed while traveling 25 countries. Location: The hostel is right on the beach, which might appeal to some travelers. However, the all-night party music made it impossible to sleep. Facilities: The kitchen was unusable due to gross smell. Same for the room. Staff: We made four calls and left voice messages to notify late check-in. Unfortunately, our calls went unanswered. Upon arrival, the staff complained us that we had to notify first.
There was no common room so couldn’t socialise at all, barely a kitchen, and the rooms were extremely hot. Power and water were both off for the first day of our stay. No security, the gate was not locked ever and the hostel was right on an alleyway to the beach with strangers walking through at all times. Kitchen only open at 8 and closed 8:30 - but there was only one fork between everyone, and no sink. Staff were nice, but way overcharged for laundry. Only redeeming quality was location.
Lovely hostel situated right on the beach 😍 I definitely recommend staying here 😊
Bonne expérience générale, un petit peu bruyant, mais conséquent avec l'emplacement. Kitchenette peut dépanner, mais ne permet pas de se cuisiner un repas élaboré. Proximité des restos, commerces et plages super.
Owner/operator of wing camp is great she will go out of her way to help you out. Downtown Cabarete, get used to the sound of the street it’s a fact of life… right by the beach!! Immediate walk to the ocean maybe 5 min or so to a place to launch your kite. Wing foilers could get away with it straight out of the hostel. Enjoy, your right next to a lot of good restaurants and the night life!
perfect location, directly on the beach. What was missing for me was a place to chill. Because of that it was not as social as I imagined. The owner is very nice and I had a good stay!
The manager Natali is super nice and helpful. The location right on the beach is perfect, you are steps away from the ocean. The kitchen however is not clean at all, also there is no sink in the kitchen so you have to clean dishes in a bathroom sink in a different room... Also the dorm can get VERY hot at night even with the fan going full blast. Almost un-sleepable if there are more than 2 people in the dorms. They should really invest in more fans in the room.
