Milenarios Hostel

Lovely hostel but the host was a bit odd - he didn’t let anyone bringing friends round even if they just sat in the kitchen and fussy about keys and cash payments. It wasn’t a very social hostel but the facilities were good.

We booked a dorm and ended up being the only people in it, which is what made this stay better. With other people it would have been difficult, e.g. not much space and poor bathroom door was a privacy challenge! Host is very attentive, but stops you for a chat every time you come or go.

This hostel was what I could afford, but honestly I think the value for money in El chalten isn’t *great* in general. The hostel was clean, but we had no control of the heater in the dorm, rooms were a bit overcrowded, and after checkout we were told that even with our 9pm bus; we couldn’t use any facilities after checkout at 10am. This meant we had to go on our 22h bus to Bariloche sweaty and smelly from the hiking on that last day, and didn’t have any fresh food for the night bus :(

while it was clean and the showers were hot, I would not recommend this hostel if you have other options. social atmosphere was dead. I also watched the hostel owner harass and argue with multiple hostel goers about cleanliness and taking showers longer than 5 minutes. very uncomfortable environment to be watched like a hawk by the owner. this type of behavior ensured that the hostel was not social

Two main things: - on my second day, I got back to my room and my bed had been assigned to someone else - without changing sheets. Me and the other guest resettled it, but it was weird. - I didn't notice the sign of "forbidden to wash clothing" and I had an accident with my sweater, so I washed it. I got literally scolded by the management, even after I explained I did not notice the sign and would not wash clothing again. Who has a no-washing-clothes policy anyway? Interdiction de laver des habits dans le lavabo car ils facturent 10€ pour faire une lessive s’ils retrouvent une paire de chaussettes étendue ils ne manqueront pas de vous le faire remarquer… on m’a changé de lit sans m’avertir ou me demander en déplaçant mes affaires. Très mauvaise wifi.

Roberto and Julia were so friendly and went the extra mile to take care of their guests. Recommendations and good chats abound. They cleaned the room every day, provided a towel and made the beds every day. There was a great atmosphere with likeminded hikers and a great kitchen to have a beer after a hard days hikes. Will definitely be back!

One of the most expensive in El Chalten without any service.

Good location and the owners are very nice. But the place is pricey for what it is, although we didn’t too far in advance. Facilities are fine, just the kitchen for a communal space. WiFi only really works outside but think that’s just el chalten for ye!

Location is good, the place is very clean, beds are good, and the owners are super nice people! Enjoyed staying here. Maybe I have seen more social hostels but if you're in El Chalten for the hikes only, it's a good place!

Wonderful staff. Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen facilities are basic but sufficient for most purposes. Overall reasonable but not a stand out. Quite expensive for what you get, but I think that is just the reality of El Chalten accomodation

Not the best deal around. The owners are very nice people. They are adding a new building. Qill give mire value for the money. Would stay here again

Very bare-bones hostel but that was to be expected booking last minute in El Chalten. Staff were amazing and very friendly.

Right off the bat, bad and slow internet. This may be the case all over El Chalten?. It was slow at the bus station. Roberto and his wife try very hard to make you comfortable. For some reasons, there is a wind tunnel effect outside the windows. It’s very windy all the time. It is clean. Not a lot of common areas to meet except kitchen. It is clean.

Wouldn’t stay here again. Very basic for the price, cold, you can’t even sit up on the bottom bunk as the top bunk is too low down so leads to an uncomfortable stay. The toilets are connected by a curtain. The hosts were nice to us but we saw them in full blown arguments and being with other guests

Clean, well taken care of, friendly owner.
