Do not stay here! Or only stay for one night. No one was at reception they told us we could only check in at 6:30. The front door system is very annoying we were constantly woken up by people banging on the door. Someone was sleeping on the floor of our room who clearly was not paying to stay there. An absolute rip off!
Nice hostel to stay for a couple of nights. Showers and toilets were always clean and the beds were comfortable. It wasn’t directly in the centre so you’d have to walk about 10 minutes, but that meant it was nice and quiet at night. Staff were nice and helpful, they sorted out our travel to lake atitlan for a good price
Technically has everything you need but was a little strange. It’s very small so the rooms, kitchen, and reception weren’t really separate. It was clean and the beds are very comfortable. But the one and only sink is for washing dishes, washing your hands, brushing teeth…. overall fine for one or two nights
cheap but unorganized
There are no rooms. The bunkbeds of the mixed “dorm” are behind a curtain in the hallway, in between the reception and the kitchen, so it can get a bit loud. The shower was lukewarm. It was okay for one night but I wouldn’t stay longer.
Really nice hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location was great.
Considering the size of Antigua, it‘s not well located. But since Antigua isn‘t that big, it‘s still in walking distance of the center. The 4-bed dorm was very small, there were only 2 „lockers“. That‘s in quotation marks, because you couldn‘t actally lock them. Neither could you lock the door to the dorm. Leaving your things at the dorm means hoping it‘d still be there when you come back. On check-in I wasn‘t explained how anything works. That might also have been the reason...
The welcoming by the owner was just great, but the building needs a lot of improvement, for instance: electrical outlets in the dormitories, electrical heater showers and individual bed lights.
Really nice stuff
Couldn’t find the place from outside. When I finally saw someone looking for it as well, we waited for over an hour to randomly have someone coming out of a door, and we guessed that it was the right place.. There was no staff for almost 48 hours.. No way to know what rooms was mine, WiFi code, how to pay etc. the thinnest walls EVER!
No staff member was in the hostel while I lived there. Not social at all (there weren’t many other people in the hostel at the time). From rooms have cardboard walls. No welcoming common spaces with couches to sit and chat with other guests, just a long glass table with chairs. Decent place if you just want to be by yourself and rest.
great place to rest after acatenango hike. was the only person in my dorm so no social atmosphere but was a great spot to relax and sleep. no hot water in the shower and not great pressure. everything else was great
