Tara Circle Hostel

Excellent hostel!! Stayed there for 3 days for my Darjeeling trip. Had fun and interesting conversations with people I met there.

I always stay in hostels, no matter which country or destination I'm in. Although it didn't have many reviews, I didn't have to think twice after looking at the pictures of this place. This was hands down the best hostel I've stayed in India. The culture is amazing and attention to keep it like a 'hostel' is what I appreciate the most. I hope that remains the same. When places give in to the commercialisation, it's places like these that are keeping the culture alive. Best wishes to team Tara...

The Staff were very friendly and were actively trying their best to include me and the other guests to explore with them, go to parties and also took me on a short but very scenic hike. Also the hot chocolate is perfect for Darjeeling winters!

Probably the weirdest hostel experience so far. The place is not very clean. The woman who works there also stays in the female dorm and when I asked if she could lower the volume of the reels she was watching she refused to. She also started smoking in the dorm room and when I complained she said it’s was allowed. There is no bar and it is not supposed to be a party hostel, but it was super loud until early in the morning, with people that were not staying in the hostel.

Good location with nice staff. Property is not maintained, bathroom doors have no handles from inside.

I liked this hostel so much that I stayed here for the second time.

Good location, just have to walk up a hill to get to it but not bad. Felt dirty because there were lots of flies swarming around. Bathrooms were good but not much privacy as you would just come out of the shower into the common space, so it didnt feel private. Owners were nice but not super friendly and helpful with things to do in Darjeeling. Also I arrived late at night due to transport issues and they just put me in a room and didnt explain wifi, bathroom or anything which was frustrating.

overall its quite decent, location is top notch but there are always room for betterment. I think they need to workout on cleaniness. Bathroom hygine and bed hygine was below average, they can improve it. But overall it was quite good.

Lovely staff and great atmosphere,yet quiet at night so you can sleep. You're walking distance from pretty much everything. It was good enough that I came back for a second stay.

This is my first time in any hostel and also in Darjeeling! I would say choosing this one was my best decision! They are so careful with the guests and also the food, hospitality, cleanliness all are top notch. We celebrated Christmas eve also there, so I would say coolest hostel in Darjeeling

Best hostel we've been to. The vibes are amazing, the staff is super friendly and funny! The hostel is so well kept and clean. Cannot talk enough about this place. 10/10

Tara Circle Hostel is a very warm and friendly hostel. Highly recommended. Staff is especially welcoming and helpful. Dorms, bathrooms, the common room are kept very clean. Food served in the kitchen is really good, especially the Himalayan Breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here on my way to and back from Gangtok.

Such a good location between the clock tower and Chowrasta. The guys who run the hostel are friendly and helpful. It’s very cold inside but they provide two duvets per bed and from speaking to people staying elsewhere it sounds like everywhere is cold (hostels/homestays)

nice hostel with friendly staff who gave us some great recommendations. very good location with walking distance to the town centre and some lovely cafes. i wouldn't recommend to stay in the colder seasons as there's no heating or working hot water🥶 hygiene and toilet facilities could be improved but there's lots of potential with this hostel. we enjoyed our stay overall!

Great location and the best coffee in town! Super nice and friendly people working there, good vibes and music, highly recommended!
