Surf Camp 79

The staff is what makes this place, family vibes all around. From the check in counter to the surf instructors. 10/10 can't say enough. Thanks for having me!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Great to stay for all levels of surfing. Staff is all locals super inclusive and the more you get to know them the better your trip will be. Would not want to stay anywhere else. Memories of a lifetime made here!

The vibe here is amazing. The hostel, rooms, beds, bathroom are clean and well maintained. There was no noise, and others were very respectful to be quiet at night so I could sleep well. The staff is fantastic and made the stay wonderful.

I loved my stay here. The staff were hilarious (Andy in particular). The social space is really cute and the people staying were cool. I didn’t do the actual surf camp but surfed with the camp for one day and had a blast. Downsides for some people is it isn’t overally social except for if you do the surf camp, and there’s no privacy curtains on the beds!! And no lock on the hostel room door. The place feels secure so wasn’t a massive issue for us. We loved it here and would stay again!

Not a social hostel. Staff is nice and organizes surf lessons if you want. A bit far from the centre but very calm and no mosque prayers heard

Loved the staff sooo much. The surf camp was so fun! Rooms were good!! Definitely need a scooter to get around as it’s a mile or so from the nearest beach.

I had a great experience at surf camp 79. Don’t let the lack of reviews on hostelworld put you off - look on google if you want to see more! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and regularly cleaned as was the room. It is about a half an hour walk from the beach and has a lovely seating area outside. I didn’t do any of the surf courses as I had food poisoning during my stay but from talking to others in my room they sound really good. The staff are so friendly as well:)

Can’t praise Surf Camp enough. I had issues with my phone and concussion whilst there and they were incredibly helpful and did everything they could, letting me use their phones and driving me about as I had no maps. Johnny and Hendy are great guys, made my stay sooo enjoyable in Kuta. The surfing camp is great. Fun and helpful instructors, cool activities when not surfing like yoga, recovering spa, photo analysis etc. Love this place, couldn’t recommend it enough! Cheers guys :)

The best hostel with the best staff - highly recommend

very nice hostel, i stayed in the mixed dorm and it was very nice and clean. There was no privacy there though. The staff are very nice and easy to talk too. I came from a place with bedbugs and they cleaned all my bags and clothes to make sure that i would not spread them, so they are very cautious and serious when it comes to bedbugs!

The staff at Surf Camp are the best I’ve ever encountered. I got into a scooter accident at the beginning of my stay and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was all good during my stay, which included taking me out for lunch, helping me buy supplies and inviting me to hang out with them as well. Can’t say enough about the hospitality and kindness shown by everyone there. Big shout out to Hendy, Reno, Eddie, Papa, and all the surf instructors as well!

Definitely the best hostel I stayed in in Indonesia, atmosphere wise. The staff is really funny and helpfull (they even gave me a scooter lesson so i could drive around haha!) i think bc of the staff everybody is getting along so well. i came back to the hostel to hang out, even though i didnt stayed there anymore. the dorm rooms are simple and bathroom ok
