Jiro the dog was so sweet nice breakfast too
I had a great stay. It was everything I needed and the breakfast and the pup put it over the top. I would definitely stay here again. I’m usually hesitant about small size mixed dorms as a solo female traveler, but I felt completely safe.
I loved my stay here! It's a beautiful old-style Japanese townhouse (with sliding shoji doors!) run by wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of options that would suit every preference, the beds were very comfortable, and the dog was cute :) It's important to be aware that this is an old building, so the floors creak a little bit, there isn't much storage space in the rooms, and the rooms can get cold at night due to low insulation (I stayed in the middle of winter so go-figur...
The guesthouse I revisited is close to Gion, Nanzen-ji and other nice spots in Kyoto. It's always nice to be greeted by the dog Jiro and their friendly staff here. Beds are comfortable in the dorm and able to keep privacy if one needs. The breakfast is always appealing here as it gives a homemade Miso soup made with a special recipe of the owner, plus a variety of other offers. This guesthouse is highly recommended.
Loved my stay here. It’s in a super cute part of the city, very easy walk to many cool things. It’s much more like a Japanese home with many beds. Amazing breakfast. Cute dog. I met other travelers and chatted over breakfast. Felt very homey and sweet.
Brilliant breakfast. Cosy Japanese guesthouse with owner on premises. The downstairs mixed dorm was small but quieter than the dorms upstairs. Convenience store right opposite.
Great breakfast and location! Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
I found the Ga-Jyun hostel incredibly welcoming with key staff like Jiro the dog being a big help. The owner’s homemade breakfast’s and own recipe famous miso soup was another particular highlight from my stay, I can’t wait to stay again in future.
Very friendly hostel, with a resident dog and a great homemade breakfast. The sleeping rooms are only separated from the common space by thin sliding doors, so you can hear everything. I still slept well, and all the other guests were very respectful of the quiet hours.
Guesthouse ga-jyun was super cozy, friendly, and close to great restaurants, walking distance to temples and transit stations. The staff is very welcoming, Ichiro is a great host who makes you feel instantly right at home. The next time i am in kyoto i will be sure to stay here again. Arigato gozaimasu!
A very laid back hostel, more like a home than a hostel. The breakfast every morning was very impressive. clean and cozy, a good change from the bigger hostels, however not very easy to meet others as a solo traveler.
Leuke hostel, rustige sfeer en goeie bedden. De mensen die er werken en de hond zijn heel vriendelijk. Top!
Really nice relaxed place to stay in Kyoto for a more. Less of a social place if you’re looking to meet others, but really friendly staff and within walking distance to plenty of Kyoto attractions
The best if your coming to Kyoto. the price is so fair with the breakfast and the location is really convenient. The staff is super friendly and they have a SHIBAAAAA
Amazing!!! 10/5!! Everyone was so, so kind! The owner's breakfast miso is the best I have ever had. And of course Jiro is adorable! Wonderful atmosphere, incredibly clean, just the best. The other guests were all wonderful people too. I hope to stay again sometime - I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Kyoto.
The loveliest place to spend a few days of my trip and such friendly staff, thank you!
We loved being there. In a 150 year old traditional home, we felt like family. We felt welcome and safe. The breakfasts were made by the proprietor right in the kitchen. Coffee was delicious. The location is close to everything, and it’s an art area.
One of my favourite places to stay in Kyoto. The owner is super friendly and makes breakfast for the whole house every morning💕 this is my second time staying with them and I will absolutely be back for my next stay in Kyoto. いつもありがとうゲストハウス雅順🙇♀️
Friendly staff, very helpful, breakfast was delicious
