Kyo To

One male and one female bathroom for the whole place and female was locked without a cleaning or broken sign. Staff weren’t interactive and place was dead. Would not recommend. However location was nice with some good restaurants nearby

Really nice hostel. Location isn’t very good and I don’t think anyone else was staying here so there was no atmosphere. Very clean though and beds are good.

I had a fantastic stay at Kyoto Guesthouse. Very peaceful and such a wonderful neighborhood to stay. Staff is very kind and patient. Would highly recommend

Traditional Japanese style with modern facilities! This hostel has the wonderful feel of a ryokan, but with comfortable, modern bathrooms and amenities. Located really close to a train and bus station, but there's not many good food places nearby. Staff were only on-site for check in and check out, but were really friendly and responsive by email. The only downside is that there is no elevator, so luggage has to be carried up narrow and steep stairs. Well worth it though!
