It's alright

Pictures on hostelword are outdated, my room looked like a normal hotel room very clean

Close enough to Dupont to walk, and decently clean, private rooms. Nice folks.

La qualité du wifi était médicore. Le garçon à l’accueil était peu chaleureux et pas très aimable et pas du tout aidant.

Great location and value, the primary reasons for my high rating. Pictures are deceiving as room had old furniture, but it was comfortable. It would have been nice to have bath soap and glasses. Free coffee.

Service and hotel overall

Great location. Near Metro stop (Dupont Circle). Clean room. Helpful staff. WiFi slow and unstable at times, but otherwise everything else about my 2-night stay was fine. Would definitely stay there again.

A nice place to stay, rooms are basic, but OK, good bed and nicely cleaned, despite the old, worn carpets! Good shower. So all you really need is fine. Reception staff seems completely indifferent about what is going on, hardly look at who comes in. A little recognition would be nice. The elevator is very old, which certainly has its charms, but it would feel better if staff would say how it works, how to avoid getting pinched by the doors etc. With that much attention it would be fun and fine.

Mala atención del personal de recepción

I've stayed at the Hotel Baron before the pandemic, so I'm a repeat guest. It is not a fancy place. It is not brand, spanking new. But it is clean and safe and the staff is low-key, competent and hospitable. My one complaint was that the wifi reception in my room, even when trying multiple networks provided by the hotel, was pretty lousy. Like, never above two bars. But that's it. I'll nevertheless likely stay there again for all the other reasons.

The guy at the front desk ( especially the argentinian) was extremely helpful and welcoming.
