Very social place and the staff were super friendly! Using a mobile phone key was really helpful.

Not clean

Good social atmosphere, friendly staff and vibe. However, quite a few practical issues e.g. the laundry room door was locked eventhough the room was supposed to be available and the machines were occupied for sheets etc by staff during hours when it was supposed to be available for guests and staff were also quite weird about the laundry facilities when we asked e.g. them to open the door when locked. Overall, doing the laundry was unnecessarily difficult. Bonus points for the hand towels tho!

All great. But I would have liked some recycling bins along with the normal ones.

Good Hostel, for one week in Sydney. The location is good, and lot of activities to meet people. Really sociable Hostel and very helpful staff

I did not like that the quilt was damp and smelled musty.

The AC in the room was literally on my pillow, had to get into an argument with all the girls in my room debating on putting the AC on or off... The common areas are not very welcoming..

The hostel is in a great location very close to Kings cross train station. The place is very clean, they have fun events everyday. Definitely recommend even for long term!!

The bedroom was very dirty and messy. There were also too many bunk beds for such a small space, leaving almost no space to move around. I could hardly sleep because of the noise coming from outside. The bunk beds were very noisy and moved too much even with small movements. I had previously stayed at the other Mad Monkey in Darlinghurst, and the experience there was much better.I won’t stay there again

I was just for a couple of nights but staff were really nice and the hostel was clean!

Very nice accommondation. only very much people in a tiny space like the kitchen or dining area.

The hostel is decent, but it has very few bathrooms and showers compared to the amount of people. It also lacks food storage space, or maybe they just need to provide smaller bins, since there was almost nowhere to put non refrigerator stuff. The rooms were quite smelly and hot, even with the AC on. The location is alright, about a 30 min walk to CBD and downtown area. Not a lot to do around the area of the hostel though. 3 or 4 mad monkeys within a block or two so kinda confusing too

Es war ein gutes Hostel, hatte ein eigenes Bad im Zimmer und es gab genügend Platz. Die Küche war sauber und gut ausgestattet.

Excellent structural building enjoying the city element strengths e.g. water source and personel availability. Making friends is not too difficult and having someone to talk to is also convenient. many people realise the water cleanliness, but buying a water bottle at Coles is recommended. #The vending machine above the stairs is a large minus weakness and I don't understand why people don't have their own castrol/pot to cook their vegetables in. Had a great stay, I liked the Tote bag paint night! Very clean too.

All in all a good hostel, not super social, nobody really said hi. Location was good, close to a lot of restaurants etc! Would maybe not fully recommend it as a solo backpacker.
