The Rock Hostel

Me gustó muchísimo, la recepcionista es un amor, la cocina está bien equipada, me encanta que nos puedan cuidar las maletas, es un plus gigante… Son muy amables y me ayudaron a saber qué hacer… la habitación estaba limpia y dormí muy bien, poder guardar las maletas en el locker y que tengan llave es muy bueno, han pensado todo muy bien y obvio los recomendaré !!

We had a really nice stay at the Rock Hostel. Lokation was right next to the old town. Everything was clean and staff was really helpful and introduced us what to see.

The localization of the hostel is really good, just two minutes of the Sassi. The personal oh the hostel is nice. The room is tall and clean.

Personnel très accueillant. Les espaces communs, la chambre et la salle de bain étaient impeccablement propres !

Auberge à taille humaine, conviviale et très bien située. Elle dispose de tout le nécessaire pour un séjour à Matera. Les chambres ont une salle de bain spacieuse et des casiers pour pouvoir mettre vos affaires en sécurité. Gros coup de cœur pour le personnel qui était adorable :)

Small, quiet, and well kept. Very close walking distance to the Sassi. The staff are very helpful and requests by email are answered quickly. Only complaint is the shower, which is difficult to get water temperature correct and the showers do not drain well.

A great base to explore matera. Nice kitchen area and the receptionists were great!

Embêtant qu’il faille quitter l’hôtel entre 10h et 1h pour qu’ils nettoyent… pas très sociable quand j’y étais mais bon rapport qualité prix et safe !

Peter at reception was lovely, made the check in really easy and straight forward! The hostel was very clean and just what I needed for a one night stay. Great location too.

Mi amiga y yo creemos que la cama tenía pulgas desafortunadamente. También el hostel no está listo para late check-ins. El de la recepción se enfadó porque nuestro tren llegó más tarde de lo esperado cuando nos podría haber dejado directamente las llaves en el box. Nos regañó y nos montó un drama. El espacio de la habitación está muy bien, y parece bastante limpio excepto por lo que he mencionado anteriormente.

Peter was extremely helpful Very Central, Good supermarket next door well stocked , great mattress and comfortable bed, towel hire was a bonus.Stayed first night in a 8 bed dorm, have now moved to a 4 bedroom dorm, with en-suite shower toilet wash basin and bidet, which I’ve never seen in a hostel before…The lady in housekeeping is also friendly and helpful….my only criticism is reception only opened to 8.30pm, luckily my flight arrived in on time at Bari and I had a coach booked …

Peter is the best

Great location to see Matera. The old city was within walking distance from the hostel, with a great viewpoint only minutes away. Was also located about 10-15 minutes away from the train and bus station. The hostel was small and quiet with a small kitchen and common area. I found the room and bathrooms to be clean and tidy. This hostel wasn't very social with most guests only there to stay a night or two. The receptionists were friendly and ready to offer recommendations.

Der aufenthalt war super! Sehr sauber und gemütlich und perfekt für eine alleinreisende Frau. Die küche ist auch gut ausgestattet, mit vielen Gewürzen und gratis Tee. Zufuß ist man in 5-10 min im Zentrum. Das personal ist auch sehr nett, vielen dank. sehr zu empfehlen!

I loved this place. It was I think the cleanest hostel I've been to yet. Which I appreciated SO much. I loved that they took care of all their things as well. The kitchen was clean and so great to use. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Peter was THE BEST PERSON EVER!! I highly recommend staying at this amazing space when visiting beautiful Matera. The beds were comfy and I felt more at home in this place which I appreciate after traveling for the last 4 weeks.

Perfect location, very clean and the place looks brand new It was very quiet in that period so i can’t tell about the atmosphere but everything was nice !

I like it. Very clean and they helped me diing esrly checkin, they let me leave my backpack earlier than checkin. Everything was clean. The main area was cosy. I would come back there
