Stayed 2 nights with a child in a private room. Very clean, staff were all friendly. We got the breakfast which was great value. And a good option even as a vegan. Child's breakfast was a bargain. Lots of items available downstairs to use. Clean kitchen, no free tea or coffee in the kitchen so bring everything you need . No parking available but you can find free street parking or 2 free hours on the road closest to the entrance. Had a fire alarm go off while we were staying, very well organised
Exceptional setting - balcony looking out over the river and park….. Extremely quiet - you’d hardly know anyone else was staying. Staff very calm, helpful and friendly. Much appreciate being able to have a private en-suite room…..and very thoughtful to provide doggy towels in the foyer
Enjoyed our two nights. Nice, comfortable room with good ensuite. All clean and tidy.
An easy 10......plus 1 fir the view over the river and the park....and so close to the centre.
Very clean, great location and great staff
Hostel great in centre of Keswick. Room tight so got stuffy with 6 in, would split us up into smaller rooms next time, but certainly keeps costs down. Breakfast good and filling. Area to keep bikes out back, bring locks for security though hidden from view. Disadvantage same back way you go to get bikes you’re frowned upon using as upsets neighbours!!
Fantastic stay, 9 of us across a couple of rooms had a brilliant time. The service from the staff was spot on, thank you! Great location, great price, just perfect.
Self catering facilities were a little bit lacking in a) design b) lack of eqipment e.g.jugs, mixing bowls. c) dangerous e.g.cupboards behind door which only had a small glass panel. d) for the number of people using the kitchen at any one time there just wasn't the space/surfaces/ ovens to safely accomodate that number of cooks/diners.
An old hostel now remade after the flood of 2015 and looking good. Staff were friendly and attentive. Fell asleep in bed listening to the River Greta running by outside. Keswick is a good place to start exploring the NW lakes and the location has great shops and pubs and even a cinema and swimming pool.
Lovely place to stay, and staff were very friendly, but noisy door closing devices and very squeaky floor boards can be disturbing to light sleepers. Beautiful location, overlooking the river, and great for a walk around the beautiful town of Keswick.
Gorgeous location, friendly, helpful staff. Swam in the river, walked, biked and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Would have scored a 10 but the people in the room next to us had been smoking and the room and corridor stank of cigarettes. However this is not the hostels fault and they did ask them to leave. Everything else was pretty much 10 out of 10. Staff were informative, helpful and friendly. The location could not have been better for a hike up Skiddaw. I will return with my family.
We stayed on the 5rd floor - No lift for disabled or elderly -
