YHA Eskdale

Beautiful hostel. More room and more pegs needed in showers... everything gets wet. Facility to charge electric bikes needed... maybe put electricity into bike shed.

If it helps The Drying room was very good My boots were dry next day

Great experience staying at Eskdale YHA. There is secure bike storage, the food was great and the staff super helpful and welcoming. No hesitation to recommend and will be staying again.

A lovely out of the way hostel. Very pretty scenery and a good YHA experience. Well equipped kitchen and lovely staff plus lots of parking. Warning though it’s very very steep to get to by most routes - don’t go up hardknot pass or birker fell if you don’t have a 4x4 car. Go via Holmrook, round the coast. Longer but much easier on the car. Staff were brilliant in directing me that way.

It wasn’t possible for me to make it too the site, I attempted to cancel but they wouldn’t do it.

Brilliant property, staff were friendly and knowledgable and good facilities. The area is a great spot for walking, although is very rural so if you’re someone that can’t live without phone signal this is not the place for you! There is wifi at the hostel although it is limited and not always reliable! Will absolutely be visiting again

Fantastic staff, really warm and welcoming and very accommodating. Great location to the southwest lakes.

Great stay

Lovely little hostel. Nestled right in the mountains. Very poor signal due to its location, also WiFi was quite weak and dropped out A LOT. However, staff were amazing. Kirsten (Kristen?) was super lovely, and one of the staff members helped me out after I was in a lot of pain after climbing Scafell Pike. Absolute gems. Only negative, is no lockable space for luggage in the rooms and one double socket for an 8 person room! Please add more sockets if possible, preferably by the beds. 🫶🏻

This place was great! A lil bit interesting to try to get to as it is kind of remote and I was limited by Public transport. But I emailed the hostel and they were able to help point me in the right direction as to the best way to get there without a vehicle, super helpful and friendly! Also, beautifully stunning location! Highly recommend!

Really nice hostel, fantastic scenery and great staff. Food is okay. Dont expect a michelin star meal but as long as your name isnt Gordon Ramsey you're fine. Don't expect to be browsing the internet as the wifi at the property is far from great. But overall a good place to stay

Excellent stay. Location lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Went there to check in at 3pm . There was nobody at the desk and told that the receptionist will be back at 5pm.

Fantastic hostel with amazing staff. Will definitely stay there again next time I'm in the Lakes.

This just has the location going for it. But left a day early as you didn't have any WiFi there as stated. Clearly an ongoing problem there. Food was just awful. Dont serve food if the person cooking cant cook. Rawish pasta and acidic sauce. They are not dog friendly. You can have the dog at the pod, but don't bring IT anywhere near the building. That is not dog friendly at all. And you say self catering, but wow!! You don't allow us to drink what we bring. Oh no. Let's charge them at the ...
