HI Rampart Creek

My second time staying here and it’s an awesome spot, right in the heart of the ice fields parkway. Joel is a great bloke, super chill and made us feel at home

Great place in an amazing location. The Sauna is awesome, but a shower and/or heated bathrooms would make this 10/10.

Super interesting stay. Good view and friendly staff. Would come back again for another visit to banff. This location is really convenient as it's close to the gas station.

Such a unique experience! This was my first time staying in a wilderness hostel and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The host was welcoming and friendly and made some good recommendations for activities in the local area. We went for a dip in the creek which was freezing but super fun! This experience was made even better by having access to the sauna afterwards. Toilets were a little walk from the room so bring a flashlight but this was no problem. Would definitely return!

This was my first experience at a hostel, and I loved it. Charles was very friendly and accommodating, gave us a good tour when we got there, he was kind enough to start the sauna and had the fire lit every evening for guests. It was a nice perk having the creek just behind the sauna.The kitchen was very well stocked and lots of room in the fridges/containers for food. The dorms were clean and tidy, outhouses were clean as well which is a nice change from the ones at trail heads or hikes.

What are the reasons to stay at A hostel? to have hot showers or at least a private place to do a sponge bath with warm water, a place to wash your clothes (cold water is fine), a place to hang and store your clothes, nearby toilets ( the outhouses were a half a block from our room ( with blackbears roaming all over camp at night, it’s very scary), and a place all over the c by your room to park ( we had to park a block away from our room) When we needed something from the car, we had to walk ...

This is a hostel not to be missed. The wood-fired sauna beside the glacial stream is a total immersion experience.

Rampart Creek was a great place for our artist group to stay.

Het was nog primitiever dan verwacht. Voor één nacht oké. Het ontbreken van een douche/wasruimte is een minpunt. Al met al wel een leuke ervaring.

Everything there is for a warm cozy night to spend after a long harsh day of outdoor exploring. The sauna was everything I desperately needed after nearly freezing to hypothermia from being soaked to the skin during a hike in a sudden unexpected storm with rain and sleet with just a typical sweater on. The host was great, very welcoming and was able to get another guest to switch with my dad to a lower bunk due to his knee problems and not being able to climb to the top, which really helped him.

The location is really good. I found it a bit messy around the premises and even for a wilderness hostel, I thought it was quite basic. Still a good place to stop for a night.

Great place to stay along the icefields parkway. It was snowing while we were there and hi rampart provided an amazing and warm shelter for our nights there.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Staying in a wilderness accommodation seemed like a challenge, but all went super well. The staff is great and super helpful, and the location is just out of this world. Will definitely come back.
