This is a fab hostel that provides a lot of space and privacy. This was especially true because it was surprisingly quiet when I visited over a weekend at the end of May. Cody was very welcoming on my arrival and I appreciated how easygoing the staff were about letting everyone choose which bed they wanted. The dorms are very large, so when they're not busy, you get a lot of space to yourself compared to other hostels. The curtain and cubby makes it feel more like a capsule hotel than a hostel!
Meh. Expensive for what it is. I waited for over an hour to check-in, even after talking to some guy that said he “kinda” worked there. He told me he just “spaced” after talking to me on the phone. Weird long-term tenants staying that gave the place a strange vibe.
This hostel felt a bit overpriced for sharing a room with 30 people, even with the own “cubby” to yourself. Most of the workers were friendly and helpful and it was conveniently located in downtown to many shops. Bus system was very close too if you wanted to explore other parts of Duluth.
