For this price, it is okay, but not more. All doors are open at all times so theoretically everyone from outside could come in and take your stuff. The bathroom is clean for hostel standards and soap is provided, towels are not. The staff is very friendly but what I really disliked are the beds, which are very uncomfortable. The mattress is like 8cm thick, meaning you are basically lying on a wooden floor and after 3 nights my back started hurting really badly.

Le propriétaire était vraiment sympa ; il nous a attendu jusqu’à 23h00 pour faire le check in. L’emplacement est un peu difficile à trouver mais si vous suivez les instructions envoyées sur WeChat. Autrement on se déplace facilement aux alentours et il y a plein de bons petits restos. Les chambres et les lits sont confortables et je viendrais ici encore la prochaine fois sans question !

The first impression was not good, but after staying here, I gradually fell in love with this place.
Great room, friendly and helpful people. Clean and comfortable stay. There are not so much foreign people in the city at all.

The beds are really bad, you can't even call it a bed. it's more of a wooden plank with a very thin mattress. The atmosphere is bad, you will not meet other backpackers here. staff is nice, we where allowed to use the refrigerator as an exception, there is a sign that you normally are not allowed to use it.
I really enjoyed my stay here, in comparison to other hostels in China I have stayed in so far this has been the best. Great location - really central. The place was really clean, although the beds could be a bit comfier! On site laundry facilities. I was too hot one night so the owners set me up my own fan - nothing was too much hassle for them! Showers and toilets also very clean.
Location was pretty tricky to get to, and atmosphere was Smokey. But the hosts were friendly and tried their best through translation apps to help me.
good hostel, not a lot of things to do there, no Kitchen or fridge etc. overall good experience
staff was very friendly, they recommended also a very nice hotpot place to us. the rooms and sanitaries were clean. The common room unfortunately had cigarette ashes everywhere, especially on the tables and because of a leaky roof, there were some pots standing around to catch the water. In total the hostel seems like it have seen better times an would need some renovation. very cute hostel cat (+1).
Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Lage war super. Die Stimmung war jedoch etwas gedrückt, da ich zu Zeiten des Nationalfeiertages da war und nicht viele ausländische Touristen im Hostel waren. Im Badezimmer fehlte zudem die Seife und die Privatsphäre innerhalb der Toilettenräume war für mich persönlich zu unausgeprägt. Dafür waren aber die Schlafräume super ausgestattet, viel Privatsphäre, viel Ruhe und abgeschottet von den anderen Räumen. Gerne wieder.
Everything was great, the only thing that bothered me a little bit was that they didn’t have actual toilets only squatting:/

If you have difficulties finding the hostel, try typing the chinese name: 阅江老院青年旅舍（重庆解放碑店） The hostel was good, has AC at night, warm showers, hair dryer, decent wifi and the staff is very nice
