La Casa Colorada

Casa Colorada is a few kilometres away from Flores, which means you have to take a Tuktuk for almost anything you want to do, since there is not much around. The hostel has a nice view but is built in a way that it doesn't cool down much at night, therefore most people switched on the fans, which are really loud. The bathrooms were clean but the dorm is very small, so that the other guest's feet were a few centimeters from my head when I slept. There wasn't much space for bags either.

Very clean, the dorm room was nice, hosts were lovely. Location is a little far from the island, but you can take tuktuks during the daytime.

Wonderful hostel with GREAT FOOD, atmosphere, communication, and quaint location. Comfortable beds and very kind staff. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. They arranged tuk tuk and taxi transport for us which was a huge plus.

It wasn’t really a social hostel bc it the dorm was barely booked. But the hosts and volunteer were really kind and had many tips. The free bicycle was very nice to get to the Flores island. While riding the bike, aware that there are a lot of stray dogs in Guatemala and they might be triggered. The accomodation is outside of the touristy area and feels more rural, exactly what I was looking for!

The owners of this hostel are a lovely couple. They went out of their way to reunite me with something I had left behind. I had a private room that was huge! Great water pressure in the shower, nice bed and the rooftop was enjoyable. I found the location a challenge. I am fit and it was still a 40 minute walk to Flores Island. No tuktuks at night. It would be helpful to have more cooking facilities as well.

Het eiland is vanuit het hostel prima te bereiken met een tuktuk. Vraag bij Janesca naar het nummer van Byron! Verder super lief ontvangen door het echtpaar, ik kwam een beetje ziek aan maar ze zorgden goed voor me en paste het eten daarop aan. Ook hebben ze ons voor een goede prijs geholpen met het boeken van de Mirador trek. Dit hostel is echt een aanrader, zeker voor de prijs!!

During my stay I felt at home! The hostel is little, cozy, clean and really really nice! It has a wonderful view to the lake and is located a little bit out from the touristic center so you can enjoy the calm and seeing a little bit of local life. Janesca and Alexis, the owners, are great and very helpfull with whatever you need! They also offer restaurant service and the food is super tasty:) Thank you so much!!

We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf bij La Casa Colorada. De kamer was schoon en mooi. De gemeenschappelijke ruimtes waren ook erg fijn, vooral het dakterras met het mooie uitzicht. Het eten was super lekker en het personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ligt iets buiten het centrum van Flores maar met de tuktuk heel makkelijk bereikbaar.

Come stay here! The sweetest couple runs this hostel, yes just the two of them! And they do a remarkable job! The upstairs roof is cozy and a great place to relax and meet fellow travellers. The couple is ready to help you at any moment, they have great cheap tuk tuk pals that can come pick you up (i used a lot and became friends with the guy) They also will cook any meal for you, she enjoys cooking and wants to share her passion, dietary restrictions included! Come help them out and stay here:)

A brilliant stay. We were aware it was away from Flores island but an easy Tuk Tuk. We met some lovely people here and the hosts were excellent! They were so helpful with everything - completely faultless. The room would benefit from some lockers so we could stash away our valuables for the day, and the shower was really tiny (but we appreciate they’re making good use of space!). Overall a brilliant stay, thank you so much!!

Un bijou d’hostel (chambre pour 2), très propre, confort, de l’eau chaude, du savon, des serviettes bref le soucis du détails est la 👌🏼on s’y sent vraiment bien et bien sûr les hôtes sont des bijoux. Lieu un peu excentré (35-40 min à pieds de l’île par exemple) mais en 10 min en tuktuk !

By far the best hostel I have ever been to. The owners are out of this world - they are SO nice, friendly, helpful and funny! I really felt so welcomed and comfortable there! They provide you also everything you need. Food, drinks, laundry, tuktuk, taxi - all of it for a very good price. The hostel is very clean and beds very comfortable. I would come back over and over again!

Very friendly hosts and make you feel like you are home, place is very clean.

Slightly far outside of Flores island but only a cheap TukTuk away. Incredible and unique experience with delicious home cooked meals on offer and generous portions. They were genuinely kind people who helpful in dealing with any questions I had. They are also looking to make a positive impact on the local community by teaching the children French, couldn’t recommend them enough!

Mein Aufenthalt hier war überragend. Die beiden sind so lieb und offen. Geben Tipps was man machen kann, es gab mit Abstand das beste Frühstück in 16d Guatemala. Die Dachterasse lädt perfekt zum entspannen ein. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb, allerdings sind die wichtigsten Dinge einfach zu Fuß zu erreichen oder man kann sich Fahrräder ausleihen, alternativ gibt’s TukTuks. Jeden Sonntag sammeln sie zusätzlich mit den Kindern der Region Müll, Backpacker sind herzlich eingeladen....

Awesome Hostel, would highly recommend! The owners are super cute and highly service-oriented, dinner & brekkie was amazing (you should def try it!!) with a lot of self-made food. We booked taxi & shuttle through the hostel. It’s a rather quiet hostel, no party hostel, which was amazing for our travels. It takes around 30 minutes to walk to the bus terminals and the island of Flores :-)

La Casa Colorada est bien plus qu’une auberge : c’est un lieu rempli de chaleur humaine. Les hôtes donnent généreusement leur temps et leur sourire, et on s’y sent tout de suite comme à la maison. Endroit coloré, accueillant et plein de bonnes ondes. Une adresse que je recommande vivement.

Ik vind het heel jammer dat ik dit hostel een lagere beoordeling moet geven, want het koppel wat het hostel runt is super lief! Maar het hostel is gewoon niet top. Ik sliep bij iemands voeten, zo stonden de bedden aan elkaar. Ik las recensies over dat ze voor je kunnen koken, dat kost 110q voor avondeten en 60q voor ontbijt, ik vind dat best prijzig. De locatie is het meest vervelend, tuk tuk drivers weten de weg niet en kost heel veel omdat het opstapelt. Over het algemeen wel schoon en aardig.
