Great place! Spend some time here three years ago and was happy to be back! Sanu and her family is very kind and helpful. Had a good time again, this time with my partner.
We had an amazing stay in Sanus House. Sarita, the owner, is a super nice woman who prepares an amazing healthy and fresh breakfast everyday and is so helpful. She recommended us a lot of interesting places in Patan, helped us with the bus and everything we needed. I would definitely recommend. It’s close to a bus stop and you can go by walk to Patan center. The room had hot water and it was clean. I would come back again.
A great option if you are seeking authentic experiences in Kathmandu. Sarita was a wonderful host. She cooked our evening meal for us and spoke with us about Nepalese culture and her Buddhist faith. She also woke up early for our 6am checkout and offered to arrange a taxi to the airport. Our room was very spacious with plenty of blankets for the cold evenings. Hot water was provided for the shower through a gas tank.
Sarita was incredibly kind and took excellent care of me. I just stayed one night, but she made sure I was fed, had hot water, and walked me to the bus station at 6 a.m. Great people and place!
Wonderful stay, the host was the sweetest I've had at a homestay. She carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs from the start, always made sure there was breakfast and dinner available at whatever time I came down, very simple but tasty and nutritious meals that gave me insight into Nepalese food. Great recommendations to check out in Kathmandu, and I felt safe walking around. Laundry is right next store and affordable. There wasnt much atmosphere as it only seemed to be me there during my stay, ...
Thank you very much for an excellent stay: always providing a warm welcome, helpful information about the hostel and the city, delicious value-for-money and healthy meals, spacious accommodation with a comfortable bed and en-suite shower room. You will receive great insights if you ask about the Buddhist culture or want to learn how to cook Nepali style. The hostel is very handy for visiting the sights of Patan - and I strongly recommend Durbar Square and the Golden Temple. Thank you very much!
Literal las personas más hospitalarias que vi en mi vida. Si necesitas algo, te dan eso y un extra aparte. Increíble. 10 se queda corto
The host was lovely, gave us great local tips on what to see and a music event that was happening in town, cooked us a great breakfast, woulddefinitely recommend this gem of a hostel/homestay.
Sarita and hee family are one of the kindest host’s I have ever had. To get an authentic experience you should stay here and ask Sarita for all of her amazing tips! 10/10
What an incredible experience this was!! I usually never take time to write a review but I have to for Sanu’s house: Sarita the hostess is one of the most beautiful and purest person I have met. I only booked 3 nights but stayed 8 and I will come back for more this month. I know the phrase ‘a home far away from home’ is a bit cheesy but it honestly is exactly what it feels like. Couldn’t recommend it more!!!
Can't wait to come back! 😊Thank you so much for the wonderful recommendations, food, and sharing your perspective. I learned a lot here, it's in a perfect location for exploring the area, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I may have ever slept in. All the best!
Very nice place to stay near Patan, food was amazing hosts were very nice. Good local advice.
Best accommodation after a long hiking trip! I stayed at Sanu‘s House for 6 nights after returning from the Everest base camp trek. It was such a great time being a guest at Sanu‘s House! In the morning I got a delicious breakfast. The host Sarita is very friendly and helped me finding the local busses to explore Kathmandu. Rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Sanu’s House is very well connected via public transport.
A nice guesthouse that offers an authentic experience of Nepalese culture. Large and clean rooms with delicious traditional vegetarian meals. It is the home of a lovely family and the host Sarita provides very good information for sightseeing, transportation, etc.
The most incredible place to stay I couldnt recommend it enough and will definitely be back! Everyone went out their way to make me feel at home and I had a lovely room with shops close by. The food was simply delicious and the roof top area so lovely to watch the sunset. The main reason to stay here is the staff - homely warm and kind. thank you so so much as a solo traveller it made me feel very safe coming back too!
I had an incredible stay at Sanu's house with Samrita and her family. I was teaching at a school in the local area and was looked after exceptionally well; a fantastic breakfast was provided every morning to fuel my day, clear directions were given to the nearby bus stop for my commute, and I had a spacious and comfy private room to relax in the evenings. However, the best part of my stay was talking to Samrita and the other guests over dinner. I really felt part of a family.
Great people and great food! So kind! I had a private room and shared the bathroom. The private room had a little desk I could work at, so that was perfect.
