The Pier Pods

Great place, especially if you’re using it before taking the bus or ferry, considering the placement right next to the station. The facilities were great, view beautiful, and digital checkin convenient. It doesn’t get too loud in the dorm considering it’s one big room for all guests. The only downside is that there’s a lot of long term guests, so maybe not the place if you’re in Townville for a few days looking to make friends to see the place with.

Had a lovely time, the hostel is amazing and its in a good location. Can’t wait to come back!

My stay was okay. But there was no staff around and it took my hours to get my bed - because the one they gave my was taken?

Really comfy bad and was really nice to have two pillows. The kitchen was clean and bathroom. However, there was no stuff at all at any point on the front reception. I also think it was quite easy to break into the lockers under bed. I have one of the really common wire padlocks and it did not fit well on the locks.

I did love the hostel, the island is great. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful, especially JJ. Only pieces that i didn't love was the dorms themselves. I very nearly cut my arm coming off the top bunk, and everytime I moved it felt like an earthquake. The Friday night dj was very busy and brought everyone who lived on the island.random girls who weren't staying knocked on each dorm asking to see it, this wasn't appreciated and reduced how secure we all felt in the dor...

Great location next to the Magnetic Island ferry terminal, nice views from every window to the sea, basic clean hostel with everything you need. I would come again, though there are much people who stay long term and the quiet times are not followed.

Arrived within hours, reported to reception but was told I had to collect my key from the safe. In the envelope with the key was a list of all the ways I could be fined, so not the warmest welcome! Bedspace was clean but everywhere else was pretty dirty. Never felt fully comfortable staying there. Ok for a short stay but I’d recommend elsewhere.

Die Küche war bei der Ankunft leider sehr dreckig. Im Kühlschrank war leider kein Platz seine Sachen zu lagern, da alles schon voll war und es gab keinen ersichtlichen Ansprechpartner vor Ort.

This hostel felt very luxurious and high quality furnishings throughout. I LOVED the pod beds, the mattress was *super* spacious and comfortable - the best I’ve ever stayed on in a hostel - and excellent privacy. I loved the picturesque and unusual location. Cleanliness was top notch. Showers were great. Criticisms - complex entry instructions, unfriendly staff and super busy communal area. But perfect for a couple of nights if you want a bit of privacy away from the usual hostel life!

Fantastische Lage direkt im Hafen mit Terasse und Balkon. Schöne, große Schlaf-Pods und trotz großem Raum super ruhig.

It’s a perfect location if you are staying one night for magnetic island but that’s it. There’s no reception and my key fob to let me in didn’t work and the number they have to call went straight to unavailable. I got through to a different number on google and she said she would call me back but never did so I just had to manage without a key fob.

There is never anyone at the reception, no matter if it’s morning, afternoon, or evening. If you have any questions or need assistance, there is no one available to help you. The atmosphere feels very uncomfortable and tense. There are cliques, and the people are not social or welcoming towards newcomers at all.

Great stay! Really nice facilities, super clean, loved the decks and private pod room-style layout. Aircon was nice and strong! If you need to be by the ferry there's no better place to stay; that being said it could be an annoying walk into town/to get groceries so the ferry bus station and electric scooter hires are good options. The beds were comfy and the location is good (right next to the greyhound bus stop and ferry terminal). However the hostel is full of “long term” guests, who are not very friendly and made us feel uncomfortable. Fridges and storage spaces are full to the brim with their food so we couldn’t store our food anywhere. We had mixed feelings about our stay. The place is great, the pods you stay in are amazing, the showers are nice with a bonus of shower gel, great facilities, but overall vibe is off. It’s very busy; 90% of those who stay here are long term living there, who all know each other and stick together, so socialising is difficult. It’s a nice hostel with a nice view in to the harbor. The beds are comfortable and big. But it says check in at 3 pm, I came at 3:20 pm and my bed was not ready and the lady at the reception just told me they don’t have sheets and pillowcases and she don’t know when they are coming. After a long travel i just wanted to sleep. I asked again 30 minutes later she organized me a blanket that I can sleep
