Super cool historical building! Super staff and location! Thanks you very much!
Really nice and welcoming staff, good location and clean
Bien ubicado
Characteristic old Japanese house. Really great and friendly staff, making the place feel nice and cozy. The guesthouse is above a cafe. The place is old so don’t expect anything fancy, and bathroom facilities are shared between genders. Breakfast only starts at 9am, so it’s a bit late for most people. There are basic kitchen facilities to use.
it was alright..i got bit by misquotes over 15 times and the shower would go in and out of being hot . also the lowest they allow the ac is 77°F (25°C) which is hot lol. however the location was great and near everything
The staff was friendly and accommodating and the hostel was very clean, well maintained and cozy. I would definitely come back. Thank you!
Great hostel for those seeking to be more in the uitshirts of Kyoto, but still a good walking distance away from the station, the has a bus stop. Very friendly and kind staff. It’s cozy and has a friendly atmosphere. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay there.
Magnifique petite auberge située dans un bâtiment ancestral. Le personnel est super gentil!
this hostel was very cool, with the traditional style beds, which I enjoyed. However, some people complained of back issues from the firmer mattress so keep in mind if you have issues. The showers were clean and had soap, there was a hairdryer but it wasn’t very strong. Not a very social hostel, very quiet but I did enjoy it like this.
The hostel is not super social, and it’s in a traditional Japanese building. The downside is that the walls are paper-thin and it can be quite cold in the winter
The staff was so nice!
Goojo Guest House is warm, friendly, and homely. The staff are wonderful, kind, and so welcoming. The location is perfect where everything is max 20 minute walk, or transport is 6 min walk. Facilities are probably where my rating drops. We had a shared, tatami style room which we loved in theory, but lack of curtains didnt offer much privacy. Only two western toilets downstairs shared with the cafe/lounge. A very old building, a little run down but a lot of character. Cafe is amazing!
Au top encore merci à toute l’équipe vive Kyoto
Brilliant place. Traditional Japanese building and excellent staff. Good coffee in the morning is a plus!
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cosy, quiet and authentic stay. Really enjoy the Japanese futon experience. The architecture of the house is also really interesting (centenary house). Only strange thing is that the common area is also a coffee shop where clients come… so don’t expect to eat casually your breakfast in pyjama. Most of the people in the common area are actually not guests, but it was not busy during my stay, so it was ok :)
Lovely place with a traditional Japanese charm. Very comfy bed and good value for money. There aren't many showers and toilets which may be a bit of an issue and there isn't much of an atmosphere so it was difficult to socialise with other travellers here.
Super nice place, staff was super nice and they played great music at the café. In general very nice vibe of people. Feel like it would be bit nicer if the rags for privacy between futons where a bit greater and lights of the room hadn't had to be for all the room but for every sleeping spot instead. Great hostel though
i felt so at home and welcome here, the staff is so wonderful and friendly and it's a really calming environment and the perfect place to chill at the end of the day. Would definitely come here again!
This is my favorite hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were so nice! Definitely going to try and go back! The food is also delicious. Very nice to stay somewhere more traditional. Much love to the Gojo team :)
hostel was good a bit of a walk from public transport. not super social in the communal spaces but the dorms were quite large so i made friends there
