The Red Boat Mälaren

Unique old boat to stay right next to the old town.Excellent location in relation to the city centre. Friendly staff. Rooms were old and perhaps in need of touch-up but clean and had everything necessary. Upper bunk was hard to reach because there was nothing to grab and the bed leaned slightly forward. Only three toilets and showers which can cause problems but we managed to use them when needed. Overall good value for money.

Really special place to stay. Super relaxing and unique. Staff are very friendly and willing to give advice. All staff I met speak English comfortably. Only criticism was that one of the shower heads wouldn’t stay up when I moved its position so had to wedge something in the way in order to have the shower head higher. Overall really great =)

The connection from the Metro Station of Gamla Stan is a bit confusing. If you are with luggage then walking takes a toll. Also not clear directions as to where one can find food. Generally understaffed. Cramped washroom. Limited space.

Excellent central location about a 15 min walk from Gamla Stan, and clean toilets and showers. Love to have provided bedding and towels, and temperature in the rooms was fine for me. Definitely not the best sound insulation between rooms but generally pretty quiet after 11pm as all the signs requested. Great price for a private twin room even if the bunk bed was a little cramped.

Honestly so worth it, my only gripes minor at that was the rooms were clearly old and need a touch up as they looked a bit rough on the edges but everything was clean, and the socket placements were a bit strange. Other than that it’s perfect for the money spent

Excellent stay in stockholm! I arrived early and they able to check me in at 11 am. The room was adequate and clean, enough bathrooms for the floor, the entire place also nicely decorated. The location is also superb, 5 minutes to the old town and 15 mins to the central station and cruise port. Highly recommended!

Rummet var rent men kallt. Det fanns en värmare, men den fungerade inte. Ljudisoleringen var dålig, och vi hade lite otur med våra grannar; de flyttade in under natten, sjöng och skrattade smällde dörrar – vi kunde inte sova.

Price for a private 2 bed room,and location absolutely awesome. sadly had some guests who didn't respect other peoples sleep and ignored the age and thinner walls of the boat. Keep that in mind for a full, deep 7-10 hours sleep, probably impossible depending on the season and guests.

Overall, it's alright. While the hostel is basic, the novelty of staying on a boat wears off quickly. Being a boat, it's cramped and narrow with little noise insulation. Showers were awkward. However, the location is great, the staff is friendly, and the interiors are nice. It's very good value.

Eine besondere Übernachtung in Stockholm. Positiv: freundliche Mitarbeiter und eine schöne Lage in der Nähe der Gamla Stan. Mein Zimmer hatte einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt hinaus, am Abreisetag konnte ich mein Koffer sicher im Lager verwahren. Negativ: unsaubere Toiletten dank den anderen Gästen, kaum Schlaf gefunden, da das Zimmer sehr hellhörig war und die anderen Gäste meinten, sie müssten noch spät abends oder früh morgens sehr laut sein oder Türen knallen lassen.

I stayed in a single private room, it was small, clean and had everything what I needed. It was a bit noisy at night, the doors were closing loudly and there was noise from the street. Bring earplugs.
