Monterey Hostel

Charging ten dollars for overnight parking on weekdays is bullshit and a dealbreaker.

Great place, great location, and great company! My only dislike would be the timers on the sink and shower (to conserve water). I found it a little annoying to have to keep pushing the water on when I needed it. However, I appreciate the water conservation :)

I LOVED this hostel. Felt super welcomed, and easily accommodated! The staff was wonderful as well as the fellow travelers. Highly recommend and will definitely come back for future stays!

Great location, super cute and clean. Very helpful staff. My 16 year old daughter and I made a one night out stop here in college tour. Was a great and affordable place to stay on CA coastal tour.

Like all other HIs, this is a great hostel to meet people, rest and find a communal home for travels. The location is very good, easily walkable to the Cannery Row. The shared spaces - couches, kitchen, are comfortable and clean. The rooms were good too (although I am not a fan of 8-person dorms, I prefer a max of 6). The bathroom is good as well. I would add that I wish the ventilation inside the dorm room (at least Room 8 where I was), could be improved.

probably the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in, amenities-wise. that being said, paying 80 dollars a night to stay in a room of 10 people and listen to them snore? that's pretty tough. cheaper than. a hotel yes but at what point is it worth it?

I absolutely loved this hostel. It was clean, well kept, and was adorable.

Such a great experience! This was my first time at a hostel, and this was a such a great first experience. There was such a nice atmosphere for the space, everything was clean and well-kept, and the staff was kind and helpful. Rooms were also clean and comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly cozy as well. I also greatly appreciated the designated parking areas, and the location of the hostel was super convenient travel-wise for my trip. Will absolutely be coming back on my next Big Sur trip!

I stayed at four hostels on my trip to California and this was, without question, the best! It is modern and clean, with great facilities. The friendly staff & volunteers have created a really nice vibe and are super helpful and kind. The space is well laid out, perfect for getting to know other guests. It has parking and is only a short walk to the aquarium and the beautiful coast, don’t miss the sea otters! I would highly recommend and I wish I’d stayed longer. Book an extra night!

I had a wonderful time in beautiful Monterey. The staff was amazing, the guests were friendly and respectful. I highly recommend this place. I will be back the next time I visit.

I had a very pleasant stay. Everything is very new and clean. The atmosphere is very welcoming and sociable. I recommend staying there :)

It’s great on all counts except it would be ideal to have filtered water, a freezer and washer dryer in the hostel. But those are near by. It’s very clean modern and secure place. I feel safe and everything is walkable and there’s bus stops as well as affordable parking.

Very nice hostel in a great location. Staff were friendly. The hostel was very clean. Only negative were the squeaky beds.

It was easy to check in and staff was friendly. Went on a weekday so parking was free which was nice. Stayed in all girls room, had a good time meeting girls from all over and place was clean. Would definitely come back!
