- Very rude and unreasonable host. Very unwelcoming. The host wasn't there when we checked in, and we saw him briefly in the morning just to hand the keys back. My little sister who was staying at another place just down the road came inside in the morning and the host, even though he saw us, didn't say anything. As soon as we left he sent a message demanding 35 euro and immediately jumped to reporting us to the police because she came on the property. Absolutely absurd.
+ The room itself was nice and airy. There are no tea facilities in the room, but there's full access to the dining area, where there's a kettle and toaster. I think there was a microwave as well. Tea, coffee and milk were also available, so just remember to take some food with you. The host wasn't there when we arrived, but had already said he wouldn't be. He'd provided full instructions on how to gain access, telling us he'd see us later.
- Before we even got there, we were experiencing difficulties with the satnav system we were using. Not a problem. I just messaged the host and asked for a few helpful directions and visual aids. He re-sent the eire post code, saying that should take us straight there andnto get in touch if I needed further help. Obviously, I was already experiencing difficulties, which is why I was asking!! I'd asked once, I wasn't about to beg! We tried again with the satnav... which then took us across the bridge, to the other side of the bay, did a big 15 minute loop, brought us back across the bridge, past where we'd started and just around the corner to the cottage!! Looking at the road later, it would have been so easy to find, if only I'd been given a few visual markers/road names to watch for! Anyway, as already said, the room was nice... until we opened the en suite door! The stench was unbelievable! I was sure the toilet must have been backed up, since the bathroom itself was clean. It wasn't until opening the only window in the bedroom that we found out where the smell was coming from. Right outside, there's a septic tank and the wind was blowing the smell straight in!! It was a hot day, with no other ventilation. So it was either leave the bathroom and bedroom windows open and suffer the stench of human waste, or keep the windows shut and try our best to suffer with the heat and lack of ventilation! The stifling heat won! The host didn't materialise at all that evening. The following morning, we went to the breakfast room. At one point, some guy wandered in with a few items for the breakfast area. Was this our host? A member of staff? A helpful friend? No idea. He didn't introduce himself and we didn't see him again. The continental breakfast wasn't really up to much. No selection of pastries. A very limited choice of cereals. Some meat and cheese. A few dry scones and a little bit of cut up fruit.
- I felt the description of the accommodation was misleading. I thought we were going to stay in a cottage. It was a room in the owner's house.
+ Clean
- This property was basic, (not minimalistic). Arrived a little early hosts appeared, female host barely acknowledged us and literally sprinted off. Male host was not welcoming at all, quite gruff - showed us our room said we hadn’t booked breakfast (didn’t offer option of adding it) and left. The garden /Mountain View was a building site. small bench outside was noticeably shabby - not shabby chic! (There was a notice in hall about building work). There was no glasses in the room not even for teeth washing, no tea and coffee facilities or details of where you could make a hot drink. Did try to see if any were around, none in breakfast room. Desk was a shelf with legs. Towels were small and not too soft! Distance to town is not a stones throw as suggested and certainly could not be walked in 10 minutes by anyone other than the seriously fit.

- Purtroppo un rumore continuo delle condutture ci ha tenuto a svegli tutta la notte. Nonostante la bellezza del posto e della struttura sconsiglio vivamente.
+ Geräumiges Zimmer. Dusche war okay.
- Unpersönlicher Empfang und Verabschiedung. Kontinentales Frühstück war einfallslos und lieblos. Orangensaft im Tetrapack, Aldi Joghurt im Plastikbecher.
+ Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce B&B lors de notre road trip. Le petit-déjeuner était correct, la chambre propre et simplement décorée.
- Ce qu’on aime dans ce type d’hébergement, c’est le contact avec les hôtes… mais cette fois, nous n’avons vu personne. L’arrivée se fait de manière autonome avec une boîte à clés. En revanche, à partir de 6h30, la maison s’est réveillée : tuyauterie, portes qui claquent, objets qui tombent… Bref, une expérience un peu mitigée.

+ Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly. Bed was nice and soft. Easy to park the car.
- Walls were thin and there is a water pressure curfew to lessen the noise overnight. Bed was noisy whenever you move around, still able to fall asleep despite it.

+ Ein tolles Frühstück und Andy war sehr gastfreundlich.
- Die Zimmer sind hellhörig, sodass man morgens von den ersten frühen Bewohnern geweckt wird - aber das fanden wir sehr verschmerzbar, weil es abgesehen davon sehr schön war!

- Hellhöriges Haus
+ Das Haus ist super süß, sauber und die Betten super bequem. Das Frühstück war auch absolut top und die Hosts auch sehr nett. Die Lage ist grade super, wenn man sich die Kerry Cliffs oder Valentia Island anschauen möchte. Kleiner Tipp: fahrt in den Pub The Harp, wenn ihr einen Guinness trinkenden Hund sehen möchtet!

+ Clean, tidy, lovely location. Good breakfast, Andy checked on guests every morning. Responded to query within minutes. Comfy bed. Plenty of space. Nice size bathroom.
- That no tea/coffee access in room. It is in the ‘breakfast room’ which as a Brit who likes tea in bed in the morning I felt didn’t work for me. Was expecting kettle in room.
