Mr. Baboon Hostel

N'allez pas dans cet hostel, on a retrouvé des PUNAISES DE LIT on a été piquées et pas qu'un peu ! Et quand on a demandé à ce que l'hostel prenne en charge la laverie ils ont refusé. A eviter ! De plus les photos ne représentent pas bien la propreté des chambres et la qualité des lits très instables et qui grincent. De plus les chambres sont très humides.

Someone stole some cash of me and my brother. Never happened to me after staying in more than 200 hostels...

C’est un très bon hostel seulement… j’ai attrapé des punaises de lit là bas et ils n’ont même pas accepté de me rembourser la nuit passée.

If they give you room number 9, run and go away. You can hear absolutly everything in the next room (if people fart, have sex or even move in their bed). We slept 1 hour that night because people were talking in the next room. Also had huge cockroach in the room. I do not recommend at all this hostel if you want to sleep well.

Not sure whose writing these reviews, if you can stay anywhere else I would. The dorms are pretty basic with a see through blind instead of curtains, windows that let all the noise and bugs in, bitten to death by mosquitos and rickety death drap ladders. Next the toilets and showers are miles away from the rooms and there was no hot water at all! Staff speak no English and pool was dirty so cannot even use.No atmosphere either. Avoid this place!

I booked the Ciudad Perdida trek with them to ensure a free nights accomodation upon return only for them to then try and charge me when we returned. We were exhausted and defeated from the trek and it was the last thing we needed. After being told it would be free I was furious. We ended up staying somewhere else

I think this place has a high rating as the people who have stayed there haven’t stayed at Viajero or Masaya Santa Marta. Switching from Viajero to Mr Bamboo for my second round through Santa Marta for the sake of variety, i can say this hostel is a lot weaker compared to the other options in town. The rooms are tiny, bathrooms are dirty and not ensuite, the building is old, no daily activities, bar opens late in the day. Go have a comfortable and fun time in Viajero. I should have gone back.

Very noisy had a speaker right outside our room until late. Had to be up early for a flight and music didn’t stop until about 3am. Don’t recommend if you need to rest

the common areas like the pool are a bit small and not so nice compared to other hostels, you cannot really use the rooftop during the day because they put away the tables and cushions on the wooden tables… it’s really cute how they prepare your breakfast though :)

très bon hostel

Really cool little hostel, there’s a clean pool and a big rooftop. The kitchen is basic but has everything you need. I arrived after midnight and that was fine. Angie at reception was really helpful too 🫶🏻

Super good!! Organized the lost city trek super quickly, and the whole staff was amazing, The receptionists were lovely, Shirley and Yessica were the best! Super recommended! Super helpful after the trek even if we weren’t staying there! 10/10

Awesome hostel. Massive beds and great kitchen. Great location as well, close to everything you need :) Staff also amazing, shoutout to Shirley :)

Great hostel, good value for money. Great location. Staff was kind and accommodating. Ended up extending a night. Ac works well in the rooms too. Definitely recommend staying here.

One of the best hostels ive stayed in, the women on reception are so fun and cheerful, the beds are big air-con good beers are cheap, kitchen is clean, swimming pool roof top bar what more do you need! Thankyou

Muy bonito el lugar, las camas son súper cómodas me sorprendió que las camas individuales fueran tan grandes, eso me encantó ya que no tuve que acoplarme a un lugar estrecho. La atención fue excelente, muy bien ubicado súper recomendado.

Angie es lo mejor y el hostel es super lindo

C'était super. L'experience était super la piscine A1. la terrasse aussi et les lits double dans le dortoir de 8 incroyable.

I had an amazing stay at Mr Baboon hostel. It’s clean, has everything you need and is well-located. The staff, in particular, Yessica, went above and beyond for me. She is super fun, kind and has great energy. Despite the languagare barrier, we understood each other just fine! I would recommend everyone staying here when you visit Santa Marta! Muchas gracias Yessica, eres increíble ❤️

El Hotel es espectacular, las recepcionistas muy amables. Shirley es una persona muy servicial y carismatica. Magie es muy atenta y comprometida. Me senti comò en casa

LAS MEJORES CAMAS, enormes, comodísimas y con doble almohada! Shirley, Jessica y Angie y la chica que hace la limpieza son súper lindas y atentas, es un gran hostal 🥹

Siper séjour à Mr Baboon, l'auberge est super agréable ! Angie à l'accueil a été très aimable et très serviable, c'était super ! Je reviendrai si j'ai l'occasion :)
