Haku Hostel

Don’t stay at this hostel - it was very unclean, staff are not helpful, breakfast is not good. The rooms smelt awful, and the bathroom flooded during our stay and made the whole room wet. When we asked to move rooms, despite no one else really staying here, they said no. No atmosphere here, maybe some ghost town vibes.

I really wouldn’t recommend staying here. The place felt run-down and far from clean, with staff who didn’t seem interested in helping at all. Breakfast was disappointing, the rooms had a strong unpleasant smell, and the bathroom was constantly flooded. Everywhere you go, there’s damp and mould lingering in the air, and the whole building is badly in need of an update. On top of that, there was zero atmosphere, no effort to make it social or fun like you’d expect from a hostel.

The presence of bedbugs makes this mediocre hostel a very low level one.

I I had booked a bed for New Year's Eve, but when I arrived, I couldn't get into the hostel. No one responded to my messages or calls. I waited for two hours before finally trying to find an affordable hostel at 7 p.m. on the 31st...I later learned that there had been water damage and that they had temporarily closed the hostel, but there was no communication about it, which I find really poor for a hostel service.

I’ve never left a bad review however this one I couldn’t let go. There is no hot water, sometimes no water at all. I had to ask staff at least once a day for basic amenities such as the water being turned on or toilet roll. The rooms are dirty. The sheets clearly aren’t washed, the walls are covered in dirt and holes. I found the staff so unapproachable. I was overcharged and had my deposits misplaced. The whole experience was the worst I’ve had in a hostel. Be very mindful if you choose...

À FUIR. pas d'eau chaude, le dortoir sentait le refermé, pas de papier toilette de 11h à 11h le lendemain 1 sdb+1wc pour 8, odeur nauséabonde, une des voyageuses du dortoir est partie en catastrophe parce que suspicion de punaises de lit.De plus, lauberge propose un service de laverie, jai récupéré mes affaires humide le lendemain dans un sac. Je suis d'accord que le prix n'est pas élevé pour demander une prestation/service de luxe mais cest de loin la pire des adresses.

The room was covered in black mold, tiny cramped room with people leaving their crap everywhere not using the lockers. The bathrooms shower only had either boiling hot or freezing cold water, no in between. Wifi was non existent with it cutting out every two minutes, super annoying. Facilities and the towels we were given were very dirty. Safe your money and don’t stay here.

Worst hostel of our entire South America trip. When we checked in, they tried to split our booking into multiple rooms, not what we booked. When we checked out, they wanted more money than the booking told us to pay. Bar that is advertised is closed down. There are no events or social atmosphere, it's a library. Staff, bar the tall gentlemen are lazy and incompetent. Showers rarely have water, when they do, it's freezing. Cusco has so many brilliant hostels, stay anywhere but here.

I have absolutely no idea how this hostel has such good reviews. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. There was hair everywhere on the ground and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We asked the reception whether the bathroom would be cleaned and they said yes but nothing ever happened. The smell in the room was also quite bad, the breakfast wasn‘t good, the wifi didn’t work in the rooms and my friends locker could not be closed. I do not recommend going here.

Both nights & most of the day the entire living area had no running water (their reserve runs out daily and it took 12 hours to get it back). Once I eventually took a shower, the water pressure was a light mist, and I couldn’t rinse my soap. Av...

No entiendo de verdad como este hostel puede tener tan buenas reseñas. Si, es verdad que es barato, pero no tiene agua caliente!! Te cobran incremento de un 5% si pagas con tarjeta cosa que es ilegal. Y en cuanto llegue supe que no iba a estar a gusto. Lo único bueno la recepcionista Norka un amor intento solucionar todos los inconvenientes que podía.

It would have been a decent place to stay as the location is good and has a decent environment, however having booked this hostle as it advertised hot water, we were disappointed to find that we were lucky to have any hot water out the shower, never mind hot, also I wouldn’t recomend the laundry service as bleach was dripped over my t-shirt causing multiple stains, when confronting the staff they said it wasn’t them, after an hr of argument the owner finally gave us the money.

Muchas gracias a Mercedes. We only spent a night here and had to leave at 3AM for the rainbow mountain tour, but even at 3AM there was someone we could leave the luggage with and the best part is that after coming back from the tour we could take a shower although we weren’t formally guests at the hostel anymore. Muchas gracias!!

Had a really great time at Haku hostel, very nice staff and nice breakfast:) I recommend!

Haku Cusco, I loved it, it was super close to the Plaza de Armas, a quiet atmosphere to spend time with friends and the service was very good, I recommend it.

Súper cerca a la plaza de armas de la ciudad, el hostel se encuentra en un hermoso barrio llamado San Blas, quiero hacer una mención especial en las anfitrionas Sofía y Mercedes que fueron súper atentas desde el momento que llegué, durante toda mi estadía y hasta que me retiré, el hostel es acogedor, limpio y seguro además hice amistades con otros huéspedes, súper recomendable.

J'ai passé 2 formidables nuits dans cet établissement. Personnel très sympathique, chambre très propre et lit avec rideaux donc intimité garantie. L'hostel est également très bien placée, à quelques pas du centre ville historique de Cusco.

El hostel no está mal pero tiene algunos inconvenientes. Es bastante frío y no tiene calefacción, y además no hay ninguna zona común donde sentarse tranquilamente cubierta y resguardada del frío. Los baños tienen algunos años y no estaban del todo limpios y las tuberías olían mal. Por otro lado el staff fue super atento y amable y la localización es excepcional. Aunque hay que subir bastantes escaleras para llegar, esta en un buen barrio y cerca del centro.

they have severe water problem. i had to request for taking showers multiple times. wifi isn't that great in the rooms. location is not accessible by taxis you to need walk a bit and take stairs that might exhaust you.

Tirando o chuveiro que não é muito bom, eu amo esse hostel!! A equipe é incrível, o Jhon é uma mulher que não me lembro o nome, mas que me ajudou demais!!! O café da manhã é gostoso, as camas são bem privadas no quarto feminino, e o lugar é bem seguro. A localização é ótimo. Se fosse outros chuveiros a nota seria 10

The only shared shower is difficult to use and only the staff can get it to become hot. The breakfast is pretty much just carbs. My room really smelled bad, but that might have just been the other guests in the room. Other than that nice place.

Nice place to stay one or to day and to rest after a trek or a big day

O hostel é super tranquilo, tem uma escada desafiadora pra chegar mas vista do hostel é maravilhosa. O atendente Jhon é incrivelmente solícito e me ajudou em tudo que necessitei. Fiquei uma noite com eles e depois deixei minha bagagem com eles para ir ao Machu Picchu, e agora estou de volta por mais 2 noites!! O café da manhã é muito bom e tem chá disponível o tempo todo. O hostel em si é bem tranquilo, pra quem procura uma estadia tranquila!!
