Casa Qatzij - Lake Atitlan

+ The staff here are so so lovely and will back you feel at home and part of the family. I really enjoyed speaking with the volunteers and they did everything possible to make me comfortable and help me. The guesthouse is really homey and creates a very relaxing atmosphere.

- This is just me personally, but I was really disappointed in the property - outside of the main house, the place felt like it was in the middle of building projects - it felt a bit unloved and unkept. The rooms are basic and relatively clean. It is a budget guesthouse, so it does reflect the price. However, I did book to stay in the solo room with attached bathroom and there was a large gap between the walls and the ceiling - as someone who is afraid of spiders and other insects, I was really uncomfortable and unhappy with this. The volunteer was amazing and fully understood and put me in another room, although this too had a gap, so the door did not fully close. Again, the volunteer was amazing about this and offered me to move again, but by this stage, I decided I was going to leave the next day and stay somewhere else, so I agreed to just stay in the room that night, as I didn’t want to cause anymore fuss. The owner has been away for a while, so this may explain why the place looked unkept and untidy, but it does have so much potential to be a really lovely oasis in San Lucas.

+ The structure of the building was cool

- The location of the property is not very good. The shower was not very good. There is only cold water to the shower. The shower head heats the water as it passes through. It is not super effective.

- Cocina poco limpia y habían muchas cucarachas en los lugares para hacer la preparación. Al ser un lugar donde hay voluntarios estos tomaban los espacios de cocina y comedor prioritariamente cuando habíamos otros huéspedes que teníamos que esperar a que terminarán sus quehaceres después de dos horas poder hacer la preparación y poder un lugar para consumir. Banos requieren limpieza constante. Falta de limpieza general Polvo y mugre. Andrés tuvo gran amabilidad via what's app pero no estuvo presente ...siento que hay q darle prioridad a huéspedes y los voluntarios asumir su rol de atención al ser los que coordinan

- Los demas voluntarios que son demasiado, maleducados, que invaden los espacios dedicados a los clientes y que al final son totalmente inutiles. Uno de ellos me insulto e intento intimidarme. Fatal !!!

+ The kitchen is so well equipped, my food finally tasted like something again! I enjoyed the feeling of the big communal living room, and when people cooked traditional Guatemalan food, I got a bite :) The hostel itself is nice, and I was glad to have an affordable private room.

- The room, though, wasn't very soundproof and from traffic to the neighbors' alarm to coughing after brushing their teeth. I heard everything.

+ Me gustó la amabilidad del personal y la casa tan preciosa.

- No me gustó que me asignaron una habitación en el exterior de la casa qué en nada se parecía a las instalaciones de la casa mayor. Esa habitación no tenía sellado entre la pared y el techo y podía entrar una sabandija. La habitación muy rústica, no me gustó para nada .

- La habitación individual es en realidad un habitáculo con una litera y baldas para dejar cosas, casi sin luz y no tiene baño. Es un buen sitio para gente joven que quiere conocer gente, no para alguien que va por trabajo

+ Totallement tout. Très joli endroit. À 5 minutes du centre-ville. Très propre. Lit confortable. Hôte A1. J'ai adoré cette maison en pierre des champs.

+ Wonderful and very cozy hotel with genuinely friendly staff. Everything is clean, tastefully designed, and it really makes you feel at home. A true little gem for travelers!

+ A gem! This is a real Guatemalan city. The space feels like an old cabin. It is set back from the road, so it's quiet. Definitely check out the permaculture center nearby. Meet nice fellow travelers here.

+ Destaco la ubicación, se encuentra muy cerca del centro del municipio. Además me agradó el excelente trato de las personas encargadas. El ambiente es muy tranquilo y tiene un toque hogareño que hace sentir cómodo. En general es un espacio bonito y agradable.

+ Andres and his partner and team are wonderful! The house is beautiful, well equipped kitchen, everyone very helpful and kind is like staying with family. Thanks I had a great time

- It is a good location to walk to the lake and market, but the street is very noisy, l always travel with earplugs so everything was ok, also keep in mind that you are in a mountain beside a lake it can get chilly.
