My money was stolen in this hostel when all of us left the room. The culprit has not been found yet because there’s no CCTV anywhere in the hostel but the police investigation is ongoing.

Gave us a scooter where the brakes didn't work and we almost died. Refused to give us a refund when we returned it early and laughed at us when we told them how dangerous it was to not have working brakes. Also I didn't sleep at all because the rooms were so dirty and sheets unwashed so I got very sick from allergies. Mold in the bathrooms. The staff were extremely rude and ignored us when we tried to ask for help. I've never experienced such rude staff in any hostel in the world.

No: Rooms are (at least ours was) literally right next to a very busy street, earplugs or no sleep. Paper thin walls – again, the noise! Meh: Decent but small breakfast. It's a fair hike to the "city centre". No kitchen facilities for guests. Quite run down in general. Yes: Social atmosphere (at least at our time of staying). Pretty close to the train station. Conclusion: Not good value for money, there are other better alternatives in better locations (yes, we moved hostels...)

the ceiling above my bed had a leak in it. looks like it has been that way for a long time due to the amount of water staining. The showers also had black mount in them.

Very out of the way from the centre and all the tours were booked up, which was the only reason i had booked this hostel

Really very dirty hostel, we left because bathrooms was very dirty and we found a huge cockroach under the bed

AVOID! really disappoints me to write such a review. At around 11pm there was a swarm of thousands of winged insects in the area outside our door. I shut the door immediately but the insects were pouring through underneath the door. We had no choice but to find somewhere else to stay. Very stressful ordeal. When we returned there were shedded wings everywhere, in our stuff and in our shoes. Turns out they were TERMITES and high chance they already live in the walls. Owner must sort!!

Staff were nice and bonus that they give you breakfast and dinner , but the bed was horrible, one of those beds where you sink right into the middle , it was the most uncomfortable , the door of the room was very noisy , I didn’t sleep the whole night.. the worst

We stayed there for 3 nights. The communication via WhatsApp was easy and the late night check in without issues. We booked a private room and it was next to the street, you heard everything!!! Between the windows and the walls you have a big space. Additionally we had no real blanket and it was not clean. We payed 24€ for the room per night and the price-value- ratio was really bad. The hostel is social, that’s nice - but in total we can’t recommend the private room!

Ik had wat hogere verwachtingen. Toen ik aankwam voelde ik mij niet meteen heel welkom. Ook vond ik het best wel vies overal, ik zag veel muizen en ratten lopen. Ook liep er muis in de badkamer. Nadat ik hier had geslapen, had ik overal bultjes van bedwantsen. Misschien was het voor mij gewoon dikke pech, maar ik zou er niet nog een keer naartoe gaan.

fine but not really clean

The atmosphere here is great! Laura really makes the place special and you meet so many travellers over the yummiest dinners ever. I ate my weight in fried Tempe and Sambal here and held my first snake?! We also got so much travel inspo since Laura really gives you the run down on Indonesia. The people make this so special and it is so affordable, perfect for backpackers.

I had het great trimester staking at Laura’s. I met a lot of people, got a lot of information about the surroundings and what to do. If I go back, I would stay again at Laura’s

This was the best hostel! There was a cosy social vibe here especially with the family dinner! All the staff are so kind and lovely, highly recommended!

Nice hostel, good location and a GREAT & HELPFUL staff. Laura and her staff were ready, willing and able to answer all questions and provide historical and cultural information.

Such a cool place to stay. The dorms are clean, there are curtains, the bathrooms are ok. It is very social so it is perfect to meet people. Dinner is included which is insane. Very affordable. I felt confortable, I would go back.

Good location if arriving at lempuyangan train station. Aircon not super effective but ok. Meals are nice and free drinking water available. No lockers in rooms.

Amazing hostel in centra Yogya. Laura was such a great host, has sooo much information to share about the city. It’s super social as you get breakfast and dinner included. Rooms are basic and at times the place didn’t feel super clean, but for the price, it’s the best option for exploring the city

Das Hostel liegt nicht so weit von Bahnhof entfernt und es ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und man hat sowohl Frühstücke als auch Abendessen umsonst bekommen. Die Zimmer sind ein bisschen älter und die Toiletten und Duschen leider auch. Außerdem gibt es leider nur ein kleines Außenwaschbecken…

I really enjoyed the free breakfasts and dinners. Always the best moment to meet other fellow travellers. Laura is also very useful to help plan your trip throught all indonesia. The location is also good, only 10 min walk to the Malioboro street. However, the hostel would need a bit of maintenance and a good clean up. The rooms don’t included lockers and there are no certains for the beds.

Loved my time here, extended my stay. Located on a side street — best to walk to main roads or take motorbike to travel around the city. Social and welcoming atmosphere, especially with communal meals. Laura is very friendly and my favorite host of all time, loved chatting with her in the evenings. Bathrooms are always kind of damp, no communal kitchen (provided breakfast and dinner made up for this though), beds are comfortable. Great value!!

I loved it here! The hostel is extremely social; not only is the complimentary dinner delicious, but it creates a welcoming atmosphere and you can meet other backpackers easily. The bed and bathrooms are clean, and the staff is amazing. Laura is fun to talk to and Elvira at the front desk is really kind! My only complaint is the lack of AC in the dorms, but fans made the heat bearable. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Incredible value: light breakfast and dinner included, and a great way to meet lots of people - developed a large community of travellers in the 3 days I was there! Laura is always around to offer suggestions and advice and tell you Indonesian snake stories - thanks for all of the above! It is cheap though so some things aren't ideal. The bed is not very comfy and there are no curtains, lockers, or a light for the bed. There is a power socket though! Well located, 15 mins from Malioboro street.

Super séjour dans cette auberge ! Bonne ambiance, très bon petit-déjeuner/dîner inclus dans le prix. Propreté au top et staff super sympathique. La propriétaire nous a donné aussi d’excellents conseils pour les visites ! Excellent rapport qualité/prix, je recommande vraiment !
