HI Hostel Jugendherberge Passau

The hostel is in a beautiful location (though you do have to take a picturesque ~10 minute hike up the mountain to get there), the staff are very friendly and helpful, the facilities were all in great shape.

The place is located uphills, with a very unique view on Passau. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Most of the receptionists are nice and welcoming. The shared rooms could be improved by adding sleeping curtains by either the window or the bunk beds.

Zeer tevreden. Zeer mooie jeugdherberg. Propere kamers, degelijk ontbijt, goede communicatie en zeer mooie omgeving.

Inconvenient place if you arnt able to hike uphill with your luggage and when you want to check out the city annoying walking down and back up. Staff wasn’t helpful or very kind. But the location is super cool being inside the old fortress so that part I enjoyed

Super freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal! :) Es war sehr sauber und das Frühstück war auch lecker. Nur Vorhänge im Zimmer und Steckdosen am Bett hätte ich mir noch gewünscht. Ansonsten alles super, vielen lieben Dank!

The location is beautiful but maybe the lack of easy access to it should be highlighted for people who have an underlying health issue (like me), or who carry heavy luggage. The staff is unwilling to help. Only reluctantly. After a hard walk up there in the pouring rain, I was faced with animosity, lots of explaining of the rules (all in German), an overtax because I was not a member of HH and another walk up on 3 more flights of stairs After a lovely welcome in Budapest this was crazy.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean and the staff were super helpful. A truly beautiful lookout as well! Definitely would stay again.
