When I arrived at the hostel I was told they have no room for me. I told them that I have a confirmed reservation but they didnot care about this. They refused to let me enter and see the reserved room. I never had a experience like this. The staff was not really helpful. There should be no charge for this reservation. El hostel lo unico de bueno es su piscina. El area de la cocina es super sucia (moscas y olor fuerte). No habia nadie,supongo porque es lejos y feo. Me atendieron de mañana,cosa que agradezco pero me obligaron a pagar en EFECTIVO. NO me gustó.
The only good thing about the hostel is its pool. The kitchen area is super dirty (flies and strong smell). There was no one there, I guess because it's far and ugly. They attended to me in the morning, which I appreciate but they forced me to pay in FACT. I didn't like it.
It’s fine if you have to spend the night in David, but lower your expectations. We had to share a bunk bed because one of the beds was too dirty to sleep in. Bare minimum you get for what you pay.
keine Empfehlung. habe mich total unwohl gefühlt. konnte dort keine Nacht schlafen. bitte bucht euch dort nicht das hostel.

The dorms are dirty and looked horrible. The staff couldn’t speak english. We ask several times to turn the air con off, because it was freezing cold, but they always turned it on. Can’t recommend to stay here.
This place seems like it has been bought and forgotten. The kitchen is a mess, and there is no one to check if things actually are cleaned properly by the guests. The garden was nice but has rubbish in it so relaxing in the hammocks (not by the pool, but under the wooden house in stilts) was not a pleasant option. The pictures are not up to date, especially for the dorms. The bathrooms smell of some horrible cleaning product. But hey, it’s probably the best option in town… take Uber, not tax...
Die Frau an der Rezeption war sehr nett aber es hat fürchterlich gestunken, sodass ich im nächsten Hostel alles waschen musste. Das "Zimmer" zum günstigsten Preis ist im Baumhaus, wo ich keine Nacht verbringen konnte, da mein ganzes Bett voller Insekten war. Ich habe dann für einen Aufpreis von 2$ in ein anderes Zimmer gewechselt. Die Küche ist jedoch gut ausgestattet.
The woman at the reception was very nice but it smelled awful so I had to wash everything in the next hostel. the "room" at the cheapest price is in the Baumhaus where I could not spend the night because my whole bed was full of insects. i then switched to another room for an extra $2 but the kitchen is well equipped.
J'ai passé une nuit ici, l'accueil pas fou. Bloquée dehors, répondait pas au téléphone. Puis n'avait pas ma réservation j'avais l'impression de les faire chier d'être arrivée. Heureusement que j'ai pu prendre une un lit dans un dortoir fermé avec la climatisation car sinon c'était dans la cabane au fond du jardin. Par contre propreté vraiment pas ouf, à la limite de l'insalubrité partout, que ce soit dans la chambre, les lits en bois bouffés par les mites, la salle de bain et WC et...
I spent a night here, the reception wasn't crazy. locked out, didn't answer the phone. then didn't have my reservation I felt like I was giving them a shit about coming. luckily I was able to get a bed in a closed dorm with air conditioning because otherwise it was in the cabin at the back of the garden. on the other hand cleanliness really not out, on the verge of unsanitary, everywhere whether it's in the bedroom, the beds in the wood eaten by mites, the bathroom and WC and the kitchen.

I like Bambu. It'll definitely be my go-to when passing thru David. It's basic. Clean. I felt safe. I would recommend it to my younger and more Adventress friends. It's close to a main highway (bus & taxi service) and a huge supermarket "around the corner." There's a big open air kitchen to cook your meals. It could use some organization, but you can easily get the job done! Louis is a super cool host. He's very accommodating and bilingual. 8-9/10 👍🏽
I stayed just a night. I felt a ittlw weird there because there were no other backpackers and just men.
I arrived at 12am from PanCity bus. I had reserved 1 night 10bedmixed treehouse as I was taking a bus to Bocas in the AM. He stated there was no AC or even a fan as he was fixing treehouse to be a suite. He wanted me to pay the extra for an AC dorm as that would be more comfortable but I declined. Owner and staff were nice, I was given a towel and a bar of soap. I could see the owners vision for the place in his updates, very green, clean. I liked separate showers and toilets.
Gutes Hostel für eine Zwischenübernachtung in David. Der Besitzer ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Küche ist auch gut ausgestattet.

Joe's hostel cancelled on me last-Minute, so I booked Bambu. And, surprise: this turned out to be the best place for travellers in whole David. Well, there is literally nothing (!) to do in this town, so I highly recommend sticking around the pool and airconditioned dorms. Also, the seafood restaurant on the opposite side of the street offers an amazing, cheap and authentic experience.
The owner is really nice. Paid extra for a room with AC but it was on 36 degrees when I woke up (?) It felt as if we were walking into a family house rather than a hostle, which has it's pro's & con's. Kitchen was okay, but not a lot of equipment. For one night it was fine

The hostel is located a bit outside the city. I liked the outside area. The pool was also nice and had nice lights at the evening! The man at the reception had no change when I wanted to pay. There are a lot of cameras so I felt a bit observed (eg. in kitchen!). The fridge and kitchen should be cleaned, as there is not much space, everything was stuffed. I think with more care of the area/rooms it could become a really nice hostel. Quite cheap though.
