Don’t stay here. There are no locks on the doors, nowhere safe to put your valuables and it’s not clean. There is one toilet, sink and shower for 12 people and the beds are so thin you get barely any sleep. The ‘air conditioning’ is 2 fans so the room is super hot and smells damp. The shower door doesn’t reach the floor and the shower door ‘lock’ is an old key chain. I asked for a refund and never heard back. Didn’t feel safe as a solo female traveler

What can I say, I booked for 3 nights but only managed to stay for 1, due to getting bitten by bed bugs the first night. A pretty shabby hostel compared to the other hostels I stayed with in Japan as well. Really not worth the expensive price tag, the only thing I can say is the other guests I met here were lovely, but I would go find somewhere else to stay if you don’t want to get bitten by bed bugs….

Sinto muito por avaliar o estabelecimento assim. Mas o quarto compartilhado estava muito sujo e com cheiro extremamente desagradável. O toilete contava com a mesma falta de zelo. Além disso, a porta do banheiro para banho era sanfonada e não fechava totalmente, deixando uma brecha. Não recomendo de modo algum esse lugar, especialmente se você for uma mulher. Agora, para os aventureiros de plantão, podem tentar a sorte.

Dirtiest hostel so far, really run down, HORRIBLE smell, only one small shower with no door and one toilet for more than 20 people, no common room or kitchen, not even a microwave!! Only good point is the location

Not really a hostel, no commune area except for the bar downstairs but that’s only open from 6pm till midnight. No kitchen or fridge, only one hot dorm room on a very noisy street. Shower was nice temp and pressure tho

A really good location. HOWEVER- It was really dirty, incredibly hot, and smelled terrible. We saw the two people running the hostel cleaning up when people had checked out. We noticed they did not change the sheets when people left and only tidied up the sheets/blankets. Additionally, the sheets and blankets were black so it would be impossible to notice anything.

This place was awful! From the moment I walked in I just knew it was going to be unpleasant… no elevator, no proper baggage storage room. The bedsheets and pillowcase were NOT changed from the previous guest that stayed there, only 1 shower which was equally disgusting! The sink was not clean either! Hair on the counters🤮 DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! The reviews are bogus!! Absolute sxxx!

The location was really good, staff friendly, bed spacious. Things to note: Although the location is great (15 min walk to Dotonbori, 3 mins to closest metro), it is on a central road so traffic can be heard at night but earplugs do the trick! The bedding and towel (which is free of charge) are both black which is a bit unsettling (they are not necessarily dirty but you would not be aware if they were). It’s a bed

The hostel was clean and all the staff were lovely but there's no common area or lounge besides the bar which is only open ftom 18:00 to 2:00 so the whole rest of the day you either need to be in your bunk or out somewhere. It was a little frustrating to have nowhere else to go when at the hostel besides the room.

Ok place to stay for a couple nights

Despite not being a bar person, Backstage Osaka Bar & Hostel is easily one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Its super close location to Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, DenDen Town, and other parts of Osaka means that there's plenty of things to do with only 10 minutes of walking. The hostel part is far enough away from the bar that you can barely hear bar patrons at night when they're being loud, and can't hear them at all when they're quiet. The bed & blanket was also very comfy.

By far, my favorite hostel to stay in Osaka !

Solid hostel but fairly basic. Daniel is a really nice guy. Met plenty other solo travellers here and it’s nice that there is a bar downstairs. Mattress was quite hard and dorm room was a bit stinky like.

This was my first time in Osaka and this location is great! Short walk or subway ride to all the fun areas. Would definitely stay here again! Staff were great and nice to talk to.

Hostel room was extremely small with nowhere to put bags. There were no lockers for storing valuables ands people could just walk through the bar. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, and not cleaned well enough. The rooms themselves were so cramped and the entire hostel smelled like vaping. The staff was more concerned with smoking cigarettes and playing video games than doing things around the hostel.

Nice hostel for the price and does the job!

The hostel is a great place to connect with other travelers, I always stay here 💜

I don't have a lot to say : I arrived at 00:30am and left at 10am. I chose this place just for one night in between travels. But the staff was friendly, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean. So, nothing to complain.

This is my second stay in Osaka, and both hostels have been disappointing. The room was unbearably hot with inadequate AC, especially during summer. There’s no AC in the hygiene areas, so I’d sweat immediately after showering. Staff doesn’t show up until 3pm when the bar opens, and the owner seems more focused on the bar and his friends than the guests. He also stayed in the dorm, walking around in his boxers smelling of cigarettes. Completely inappropriate considering it was a mixed gende...

My friend invited me to stay there because of the bar. The room is very simple, it's more just for staying only. The mattress are comfortable but the shower is small. Beside me and my friend there were only guys in the room but we could meet girls at the bar downstairs. It's clean for Osaka standards and it's cheap for downtown. I recommend for the bar. At night you can hear the street so I don't recommend to people with light sleep.
