Unglaublich freundliches Hostel, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und lernt wundervolle Menschen kennen!
One of a kind hostel! Such an awesome and unique stay. The family has been making Tatami mats for generations with their workshop next door (run by the owners father). I highly recommend booking a session in the workshop, not only do you create your own mini mat but we worked together on a full size tatami mat for a client! Likely the only place in Japan you can do this 🙇♂️it really was an honour. The owner is also a really lovely guy, we spent a long time chatting and telling storie...

Such a good place to stay if you want avoid the crowds of Osaka. Not too much to do in the area, but easy to take the train other places. The staff is super sweet and welcoming. Always helping if you have any questions or other problems. Would definitely stay again.
My stay at Guesthouse Fujitatami was the highlight of my trip - if you prefer an accomodation that is away from the bustle of the city but still rich in experiences like meeting locals and enjoying delicious restaurants, I highly recommend a stay with Issay and Kana + breakfast included. **Pro-tip: Take advantage of the 2hr tatami workshop they offer! For an additional fee, you get your own personalized tatami souvenir to take home. It is a priceless experience, and one I will always remember.
This is a special place. Not a typical hostel stay at all. A great space to slow down and breathe. There is good food in the area and you can bike to a nice park around a lake. Kana’s donuts and coffee are perfect. I hope I can come back someday. The sleeping space is comfortable and clean. I took advantage of the tatami workshop and it was cool to learn more and have a self-made souvenir to take home. Thanks Hiro and Issay.
Ha sido mi primera estancia en japon y no podia pedir mas, recomendable 100%.
exactly what it is. its a bit out of the way but nice to chill and relax. hosts were very welcoming :)
The owners of this place are some of the nicest people i have ever met. We stayed here for a few weeks. It it located a short and very beautiful walk to the train station where trains into central osaka go pretty much nonstop. I can highly recommend staying here. The owner is also very easy to communicate with as a foreigner since he is great at english. 10/10 would recommend. And i will stay here again for my next trip to Osaka :)
Location may be out of the city center and far from most places but the atmosphere and friendliness of the owners is exceptional. They were extremely kind and accommodating. The place itself is quite small but has all the provisions necessary for any traveler. Overall, I felt satisfied and greatly enjoyed my stay.
Very lovely place and an even more lovely owner. One of my favorite hostels so far!
Very friendly staff, felt like home. Would recommend to any travelers interested in a guest house experience in Japan.
I had an incredible stay! The owner is so nice and down to earth. He gave me amazing tips for the Kumano Kodo trail and I am so thankful for that! The house is clean, and so chill and quiet. There are curtains dividing each of the tatami mats so even in the dorm, there’s some element of privacy which was nice. I enjoyed hanging out with him, his partner and one of his friends who stopped by. It is a little far from downtown Osaka but worth it. I hope to be back one day!
I really enjoyed my time at Fujitatami, it felt very different from the usual hostel experience and atmosphere and was something more relaxed and also very authentic. Everyone was extremely kind and friendly whilst I was staying, offering recommendations of places to go and things to do in the day such as the tatami workshop which I greatly enjoyed. The house was very clean and had everything that I needed. Thank you so much for the hospitality 😊
10/10 - would recommend
Highly recommend to anyone visiting Osaka! Very inexpensive but high quality, the hosts are very lovely people and still only a short ride from the city. The tatami workshop was also fascinating and a fun exchange of culture 😀
Cleanest hostel I've been in. Fantastic people, a bit out of the city but worth the commute.
Issei and Kana will look after you like family, it’s an authentic Japanese guesthouse experience with delicious rice flour gluten-free donuts for breakfast and loads of beautiful artwork and guitars to play. Really calm peaceful vibe. Takes about 50mins to get to Namba by train then you’re in the thick of it in Osaka. I was even picked up and dropped off at the train station on arrival and departure. Great people, can’t recommend enough.
I've never felt so welcomed in all my life. I'm going to miss this place, and the donuts. 11/10
