Dirtiest hostel ever seen. One overweight volunteer with bad attitude and the other using the artificial grasss on the outdoor space like an ashtray. Party hostel is cool as long as those responsible for the cleaning - aka the volunteers - do something else other than getting drunk
When booking I didn’t see the age range . Apparently the hostel is for people who party all night and come back in the middle of the night to crash . After seeing the room , I had a change of heart and wanted to cancel . Unfortunately I was told it was not refundable. My sister and I didn’t stay anyway . If you are looking for a quiet night in nice surroundings, this hostel is not for you.
The hostel is not maintained, the toilets and the common areas are very dirty. Only 2 bathrooms (bouchées), with toilet inside, for many occupants. Loud noise because meeting place to party. I do not recommend at all, pass your way.
The staff was very nice and fun, perfect for people who want to party. The hostel itself is not pretty and a bit dirty. Overall I found it overpriced
Unfortunately the location was the only redeeming factor of this hostel. The room and bed smelt of urine, staff were never around unless they were coming into the room unannounced, and there were never any guests around until the late hours of the morning when everyone was coming home from a night out. The most disappointing hostel stay in Europe so far :/
not a great experience overall
The hostel was overbooked so they put us in another one. We were supposed to stay 2 nights in the other and the last night in JJ’s Yard. They offered us the last night for free but I think the rightful thing to do was to give us the two nights in the other hostel for free since it’s not what we booked. We left after 1 night because the bathrooms were tiny and the bed was unsafe. Overall not a great stay at all.
Window was leaking , bedding had a weird smell and was very thin. It was cold in the night. Heard outside noises like the window was open. Very nice owner though. Everything was clean
GREAT people! VERY average hostel.
Met some really nice people and in person JJ was also good. but there are almost no facilities in the hostel. not even a fan was provided in 32° . Rooms were just cleaned for the name sake. under the beds , it was full of dirt. Doormat in the bathroom was not cleaned for ages. For anything you ask, owner replies with IT'S A PARTY HOSTEL 🙄. It doesn't mean you just take money from people and provide them with just a bed ? I've stayed in many party hostels but this was the least managed one.

Very dirty but the rooms are fine
Ok hostel. Very simple. Not so happy with the cleaning. Social hostel. Nice staff.
Honestly might be best hostel ever. It’s just small enough so it’s super social. The volenteers are the coolest people, shoutout Dave, Dane, and Wanda. Jay the owner is super nice to. No complaints. They gave us the best time in Lagos.
Jjs yard is a perfect hostel to stay in in Lagos. Has a great location and really friendly staff and volunteers. Pub crawls are super fun!
Incredible few days, it was so chill✨ I felt like I could trust everyone right away and like we'd been friends for a few years at least! The everyday pub crawls definitely help to bring people together haha The mattress was comfortable, the showers worked with no problems, there is a small oven, a stove, a microwave, two fridges and a kettle in the shared space, so basically everything you could want and need. Personally, I loved that it was a little messy, a little bit of a uni dorm vibe, bec...
Amazing hostel, everyone was really friendly!

The owner and staff were so amazing, kind and fun!! It’s the perfect location; close to the beach, activities, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. I met so many cool travelers. Will definitely be staying at JJs my next trip to Lagos.
Absolutely loved my stay at JJ’s Yard!! The staff is so friendly and helpful and the facilities are very clean and well kept. Thank you for a comfortable and nice stay!
Personale accogliente, posizione ottima, ostello semplice ma dotato di tutto il necessario per trascorrere una notte a Lagos
Friendly staff, excellent location, simple hostel but equipped with everything you need to spend a night in Lagos
love JJ’s, it’s my second time returning and would definitely come back next visit to Lagos, J and the team are so lovely and create a fun party atmosphere as well as providing recommendations for the area
Super fun hostel! The volunteers were very social and inviting. The beds were nice and the commons room were kept very tidy. Only complaint is the shower drains kept clogging, but other than that it was great!
The bathroom door definitely needs a makeover and not see through glass , the lock isn’t working at all and the door reopens itself when pressure from another door opening comes the beds are okay, the sheets are made to be ripped of when moving in your bed The bathroom and rooms are dirty , hair everywhere , clogged and sandy but at least the shower pressure is good
Great hostel. This is a very small hostel which made it very nice to chat with everyone. There is a pub crawl every night and it is super social
Overall a great place and JJ is very informative and helpful. Makes you feel at home
Showers were great, full bathrooms, not just a cubical. Rooms would be nice if they had a little light under each bed, no aircon but luckily wasn’t hot enough to be an issue, there was a room fan.
If you want to be a part of a family - stay here. It’s not even loud like a regular party hostel because everyone heads out at 10pm so you can have the best of both worlds. Also Jenna is a queeeen I miss her
Stayed at JJ's for 2 nights. JJ checked me in and gave me some useful information about Lagos. Staff are nice and also organize daily pub crawls to help travellers make friends. Room was clean and well ventilated. Kitchen and dining area were spacious and clean. Place is super well located and a short walk to restaurants and pubs, and within walking distance to the beach and hiking trails.
Sweet people, relatively small hostel which is good. Pub crawl was fun and the hosts were flexible with checking in. Easy communication on WhatsApp. Really nice location!
